Well by strict definition that was what the American pilots were doing flying the Burma hump prior to WW2.
I knew a man from my home town who was a Burma hump pilot. Went over in late 30’s. He was out there no fear of risk or failure.

False. According to Prigozhin, he wasn't onboard. The point is that the same aircraft was attacked in which Prigozhin was a week ago.

MOSCOW, February 14 - RIA Novosti. Businessman and founder of the Wagner group Yevgeny Prigozhin said that the Su-24, from which he invited Vladimir Zelensky to Artemovsk, was attacked by Ukrainian air defense systems.

Lots of posturing going on in the run-up to the first anniversary of the RU/UA war. Wouldn't exclude some major developments next week. Here's a quick run-down of recent events which, in my view, warrant attention (listed in no particular order):
  • Putin's big address to the Federal Assembly is confirmed for Feb 21. In procedural terms this is an annual event (modeled after the State of the Union speech), and he was constitutionally expected to deliver it by the end of 2022 -- but didn't. His current plans obviously coincide with the Feb 24 anniversary, and there's a great deal of speculation in the Russian mediazone (and beyond) as to what will be announced.
  • In the run-up to the above, Putin has been meeting with heads of Duma factions to enable them to "express their views". This is widely regarded as theatrics.
  • Biden is traveling to Europe and is expected to visit Poland on Feb 21-22.
  • Péter Szijjártó (Hungarian foreign minister) paid a visit to Minsk yesterday, ostensibily to meet with Belarussian officials (which is highly unusual in itself), but a "special aviation flight" was spotted on the Moscow-Minsk route coinciding with the visit, so it's quite possible that some Russian bigwigs were also in attendance.
  • The Kremlin announced a possible meeting between Putin and Lukashenka this Friday.
  • Wang Yi (senior Chinese diplomat) is on a high-profile tour of Europe; he's expected to visit Russia and also possibly meet with Blinken.
  • There are indications Russia is going to test an ICBM or similar system in the Feb 17-22 timeframe. For its part, USA carried out a Minuteman III ICBM test several days ago.
  • Dmitry Kuleba has announced unspecified "big events" on the anniversary of the Russian invasion. Later clarifications suggest that these events would be of the "talking heads" variety, although the original announcement was quite ambiguous.
  • Admiral Gorshkov (Zircon missile carrier) is drilling off the coast of South Africa, with reported Chinese participation.
  • Rumors of another wave of mobilization continue to abound in Russia. Yesterday Peskov said that he has "no data" on such mobilization. Interesting choice of words.
