Lukashenka hasn't been seen in public since May 9 when he attended the parade in Moscow (and was photographed with a bandaged hand), after which he immediately flew back home - unlike the remaining heads of state who stayed for lunch with Putin.

He also didn't deliver his traditional Victory Day speech in Minsk (defense minister Viktar Khrenin spoke instead). Highly unusual.

There are persistent rumors regarding Luka's health status. I don't usually put much stock in such rumors, but I'll make an exception here since there are multiple objective signs something may indeed be amiss.

Videos show helicopter apparently shot down in Russia, near Ukrainian border​

Videos posted on Russian social media on Saturday showed a helicopter apparently being shot down over Russia's Bryansk region, bordering Ukraine.
The state news agency TASS cited an emergency services official as saying preliminary information indicated the helicopter's engine had caught fire before the crash near Klintsy, which is around 40 km (25 miles) from the border.
However, a video posted on the Russian pro-war Telegram channel Voyenniy Osvedomitel, which has around half a million followers, showed a helicopter high in the sky exploding, being thrown off course and then plunging earthwards in flames.

Two Russian pilots were killed on Friday when a Russian Mi-28 military helicopter crashed in the annexed peninsula of Crimea, Russian news agencies reported, citing the defence ministry.
The defence ministry said it believed the reason for the crash was equipment failure, the TASS news agency reported.

"As part of an official visit to Italy and the Vatican, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi and our team met with Pope Francis.


During the meeting, the Head of State focused on stopping Russian military aggression and restoring peace.


A clear and realistic algorithm for achieving a just peace is laid out in the Ukrainian peace formula.


The President asked Pope Francis to comprehensively contribute to the implementation of the peace formula, in particular in matters of food security, the release of prisoners and deported persons, and the restoration of justice.


A separate topic of the meeting was Russia's crimes related to the abduction and deportation of Ukrainian children to the Russian Federation. They called on the Vatican to join Ukraine's efforts to return children abducted by Russia.


Volodymyr Zelensky invited Pope Francis to visit our country in order to support with prayer all Ukrainians who suffer from Russian terror and fight against the evil that has come to Ukrainian land."
