European airport operators said a cyber attack targeted a service provider for check-in and boarding systems at several airports across the continent, disrupting operations and delaying or canceling flights at Brussels, Berlin, and London Heathrow airports.
Attack Disrupts Automated Systems at Brussels Airport. Brussels Airport in Belgium stated that the attack disabled automated systems, allowing only manual check-in and boarding procedures.
The airport operator said in a statement posted on its website: "This significantly impacts flight schedules and will unfortunately lead to flight delays and cancellations."
It noted that "the service provider is working diligently to resolve the issue and is attempting to resolve it as quickly as possible."
