Poland will defend its territory

"Anyone who wants to attack Poland will be treated appropriately, as was the case on September 10”, said Prime Minister Donald Tusk, after a meeting of the National Security Council devoted to the violation of Polish airspace by Russian drones. Moscow's provocation was aimed not only at Poland, but also at European countries. We have full support and understanding in NATO on this matter. In an emergency, the government and the President work in close cooperation.

Brussels - NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte and Supreme Allied Commander Europe Alexus Grynkewich will give a joint news conference at 5pm Freedom time (CEST) days after Poland shot down drones in its airspace.

"The Russian-Belarusian maneuvers are defensive in nature and do not pose a threat to the Baltic states. Rather, it is Europe that is sending mercenaries and weapons to Ukraine to fight Russia."

Suspilne (Ukrainian public broadcaster) reports from Kyiv that Poland will expand military cooperation with Ukraine and become the largest beneficiary of the EU’s SAFE instrument—“€47 billion,” part of which will go to joint defense projects—attributed to Polish FM Radosław Sikorski during his Sept. 12, 2025 visit.

Note on the figure: EU and other outlets list Poland’s exact SAFE allocation as €43.7 billion (the “€47 billion” in Suspilne is a rounded figure / headline shorthand).

Breakdowns this week show Poland at €43.7 billion and note that 13 EU states plan to channel parts of their SAFE loans toward support for Ukraine, consistent with the “joint defense projects” line.

This would have scared me if it was the government or military saying this.

It certainly caught my attention until I read the disclaimer.
