💥 Russia launches massive strikes on Ukraine’s energy grid, forcing power cuts ahead of winter

KEY POINTS
  • Russia launched its biggest assault on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure in months, hitting power facilities in Kyiv and other major cities as the country braces for another difficult winter.
  • Seven people were killed in the attack and emergency power cuts were imposed in Kyiv and three other regions.
  • Zelenskyy has previously warned that Kyiv would make winter “painful for Russia too” in the absence of an energy truce.

Latvia says it has uncovered a GRU espionage operation targeting NATO military infrastructure.
Latvia’s State Security Service revealed today that two Latvian citizens are in custody, suspected of spying directly for Russian military intelligence.Investigators say they collected intelligence on:
• NATO allied forces
• Latvian radar systems
• a military airbase
• military transport movements
• support to Ukraine
Most notably, one suspect allegedly used a small private aircraft to conduct aerial reconnaissance and photograph the Ādaži military base. Latvian authorities also say the pair conducted activities supporting potential intelligence and sabotage groups operating in Latvia.
The investigation remains ongoing.

  • Anton Gerashchenko's post shares Russian Telegram reports of powerful explosions at the Krasnozavodsk Chemical Plant in Moscow Oblast, highlighting the facility's production of industrial explosives, gunpowder, and thermobaric warheads for Shahed/Geran drones used in the Ukraine conflict.
  • The attached video shows a large gray smoke plume rising over trees near a road, captured from a distance with a "SHOT" watermark, consistent with witness footage of the incident.
  • Multiple Russian sources including Shot, Mash, and 112 confirm at least 7 deaths in workshop No. 4 which collapsed, over 40 workers evacuated, and a fire; preliminary assessments point to a technical cause with no reported aerial involvement. Grok

A major defense achievement for Ukraine: FirePoint’s FP-7 tactical ballistic missile has been successfully used in combat for the first time, according to President Volodymyr Zelensky. The FP-7 draws on the aerodynamic design of the Soviet-era 48N6 interceptor family used by the S-300PM and S-400 long-range air defense systems, incorporating different guidance systems and a composite airframe.
Developed by Ukrainian firm Fire Point as a cheaper ATACMS analog with ~200-250 km range, 150-200 kg payload, and ~14m accuracy, the FP-7 represents a key step in Ukraine's domestic ballistic missile production amid ongoing conflict. Grok

A specialized team of Marines deployed to Europe will be redirected to the Baltic Sea region to support the NATO-led enhanced vigilance activity Baltic Sentry.

Approximately four dozen Marines assigned to the 2nd Reconnaissance Battalion, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force Information Group, based at Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, will operate alongside Finland's Coastal Brigade to provide advanced expeditionary surveillance and tactical reconnaissance capabilities. The activity is designed to enhance maritime domain awareness to protect critical undersea infrastructure and support overall security in the region.

Baltic Sentry represents a highly integrated collective defense effort. European allies lead the effort under Allied Joint Force Command Brunssum and Allied Maritime Command, with the U.S. Marine Corps serving in a supportive, enabling capacity.

The same thing often happens to me too, in the replies I send to William.

Russia is still keeping its Kapustin Yar airspace closed as one day left for the restriction to end The Kapustin Yar Test site restriction is still active and ongoing. The site is used by Russia to test its ICBM like Oreshnik or S-500 defense systems and also has been used to launch ballistic missiles on Ukraine for example Oreshnik which has been fired on Ukraine three times basing in this same site. Due to the ongoing restrictions, it's unclear whether Russia will be testing its missiles or launching an attack towards Ukraine from the site. It could be possible the launch could take place tomorrow as end of restriction Nears.

I have no idea why. Did you tell the director or assistant director? It's nothing I did that I'm aware of.

NATO has revealed details of a significant air-defence training mission over Lithuania and Latvia on Sept. 29th.A US B-1B Lancer operated alongside German and Italian Eurofighters, Spanish F/A-18s and Turkish F-16s, supported by tankers and ground-based assets.
A B-1B in Latvian/Lithuanian Airspace is in strike range for Moscow using JASSM-ER.
  • The post interprets a recent NATO air-defense integration exercise over Lithuania and Latvia as revealing offensive potential, noting that a US B-1B Lancer operating there can reach Moscow with JASSM-ER standoff missiles.
  • JASSM-ER has a range of roughly 925-1,000 km; straight-line distances from Riga (~844 km) or Vilnius (~790 km) to Moscow place the Russian capital well inside this envelope.
  • Simulation images attached to the thread illustrate the B-1B's missile reach arc fully covering Moscow and extending further east, emphasizing the exercise's dual defensive-offensive signaling. Grok
I did go to Nato's website and did not see anything about this. Anyone else have anything on this? Could be why putin was rattling the nuclear saber recently. IMO

It’s bc he always makes his entire posts in quotes and the forum won’t let you double quote.

I use the quote feature for what other people say. I do not use it for what I say. What I like to do is post info from various sources (mainly X) for people to analyze to try to form a big picture of what is going on in the world. I do occasionally post (click bait) and I hear about it when I do,:ROFLMAO: which is good.(y) I do not do it on purpose or try to deceive.
