I think that the real risk is that Russia retaliates by hitting supply lines and storage sites outside of Ukraine, Poland for example. This may, or may not, lead to NATO intervention however I agree that if targets inside the Russian border are being hit then Putin may not take that lying down.

Something to definitely take seriously and hope this doesn't push the status quo to the point Putin feels the need to up the stakes and strike outside of Ukraine to send a message or prove a point.

Or fold, isn’t that the real goal by both sides right now? By both combat and public opinion.
Manipulate the other side into surrendering.

The argument made so often is we have to do something - do anything to stop the fighting.
Ok what what is negotiable what isn’t,
How much or how far does nato support Ukraine?
If we need to find a settlement then what are the parameters, it shouldn’t just be what ever it takes. Or should it.

That would be a complete concession to Russia.

So if we’re starting now what would be a workable peace settlement? Make the boarders where there at now Permanent, current Ukrainian gov remain and they are free to join nato.

This conflict is settled and Russia relinquishes ALL future claims on Ukraine.

That is until the next Russian leader wants to starts singing the song of how Russia was cheated in the 2022 peace deal. And how the eastern Slavic people need to be reunited with Rus.

As much as Russians complain about being cheated. It really makes you wonder about their general competency to manage a large nation.
