Surely it's more of a strategic weapon?
It gives North Korea second strike capability (well, presuming the sub wasn't blown out of the water before it launched)

Granted it's a limited capability, but even a single warhead can inflict significant damage.

Article makes very valid point. K.J.U doesn't even trust China its only somewhat kinda ally. Not sure how K.J.U is going to reciprocate anything similar with Russia as it does with China.

Even trade logistics between Russia & North Korea is a joke and unusable half the year. 🙄 Why China can't up its imports of Russia goods more than what it already is.

North Korea has fired an “unidentified ballistic missile” off its east coast, according to South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff.
The launch on Wednesday took place while leader Kim Jong Un is in Russia.
Kim is expected to meet Russian President Vladimir Putin on Wednesday with talks on arms sales said to be high on the agenda.

After touring launch pads with Putin at a remote space base in Russia’s Far East, Kim expressed “full and unconditional support” and said Pyongyang will always stand with Moscow on the “anti-imperialist” front. The leaders met at the Vostochny Cosmodrome for a summit that underscores how their interests are aligning in the face of their countries' separate, intensifying confrontations with the United States. The talks lasted four to five hours, after which Kim left, Russia’s state news agency RIA Novosti reported.
