OMAN IS HELPING LEGITIMIZE IRAN’S HORMUZ PLAY

A joint Oman–Iran statement confirms support for the U.S.–Iran Islamabad MOU and announces a joint working group to discuss the future administration of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.

That includes:
• how navigation will be managed
• what services will be provided
• and the costs tied to them

In other words: this is not just about keeping the waterway open.Iran is already trying to shape the rules around one of the world’s most important maritime chokepoints — and Oman appears to be helping give that process diplomatic structure and legitimacy.
