During talks on ending war, US indirectly warned Iran that Israel might try to kill its top negotiators
US officials indirectly warned Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf that Israel may try to target them in assassination attempts, while they were engaged in negotiations with Washington to end the war earlier this year, The New York Times reports.
Denuclearization talks between the U.S. and Iran are on hold for a week as the Iranian government prepares a funeral for Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in Tehran, the capital. The funeral is expected to last from July 4 to July 9.
