Iran says $270bn war loss must be compensated, as fresh talks with US loom

Iran has demanded that it receive compensation for the destruction caused by the United States and Israel’s attacks, as the country remains defiant and regional powers continue their attempts to mediate an end to the conflict.

Tehran’s envoy to the United Nations said on Tuesday that five regional countries must pay compensation, based on his accusation that their territories were used for launching attacks on Iran.

The regime is so terrified of U.S. troop landings that they’ve physically blocked airport runways with buses! The runways at Mehrabad Airport in Tehran are being physically occupied and covered with buses, showing the regime is deeply afraid of a ground invasion.
This primitive tactic comes as the U.S. continues to deploy additional troops to the region, making a ground invasion an increasingly real possibility.

Hopes grow for a breakthrough in US-Iran talks as Pakistan mediates

The optimism on Wednesday came as a high-level Pakistani delegation, headed by Army Chief Asim Munir, arrived in Tehran to deliver a message from the US to the Iranian leadership, according to Iran’s Press TV broadcaster.

Al Jazeera’s Osama Bin Javaid, who has been covering the US-Iran talks, said Pakistani officials were expecting “a major breakthrough on the nuclear front” and that the delegates were continuing to relay messages back and forth between Washington and Tehran.

Iran says nuclear enrichment rights non negotiable under international law

April 16, 2026 12:12 PM Iran will not compromise on its nuclear enrichment rights, the country’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Esmaeil Baqaei, has said, adding that its entitlement to nuclear energy is firmly grounded in international law and the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty. Addressing a press conference in Tehran, Baqaei dismissed what he described as baseless speculation in Western media regarding Iran’s enrichment programme, stressing that the country’s legitimate rights, as recognised under international law, are non-negotiable.
