There are still gaps to bridge in nuclear talks with the United States, an Iranian source familiar with negotiations told Reuters.

“The issue is that America is not willing to lift major sanctions in exchange,” the source said, speaking on condition of anonymity due to the sensitivity of the discussions.

While Iranian officials have expressed a willingness to reduce enrichment levels and lower their stockpile of highly enriched uranium, the source noted that Tehran wants reductions to happen in stages — a proposal the US has not agreed to.

The source also cited disagreement over where Iran’s enriched uranium would be sent under a possible deal.

There is concern in Israel over the emerging nuclear agreement between Iran and the United States, The Jerusalem Post reported, citing two Israeli officials who said the potential deal is seen as problematic for Israel.

According to the report, Israel maintains that Iran should not be allowed to enrich uranium under any circumstances, including for civilian purposes.

The newspaper cited two Western officials saying that while negotiations have made progress, it remains uncertain whether the talks will result in a final agreement.

Iran has not received any written proposal from the United States, either directly or indirectly, and will not abandon its right to enrich uranium under any scenario, Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said Friday in a statement on X.

“The messaging we—and the world—continue to receive is confusing and contradictory,” Araghchi wrote. “Iran nonetheless remains determined and straightforward: Respect our rights and terminate your sanctions, and we have a deal.”

“Mark my words: there is no scenario in which Iran abandons its hard-earned right to enrichment for peaceful purposes,” he added.

TWZ: A contingent of at least 4 F-15 fighters have been sent to Diego Garcia. 4 B-52H bombers, 5 KC-135 tankers, a C-17 cargo plane, and a white-colored airliner with orange nacelles — most likely an SAS airlines personnel transport flight — is also viewable at the base.

According to the TWZ article the B2s have left.
For a very brief period, there were 10 U.S. bombers on the island, but the B-2s quickly began departing for home. Online flight tracking data indicates that the last B-2s left the island on or around May 9th.
