What seems good is that neither side is saying "act of war" or something similar, more that they did something unprofessional and unsafe.

Frankly it was either Too notch airmanship or an “aww Frak!” Moment in Russian.
Either way they made their point. They are willing to destroy our drones at that proximate area/distance.

The Ball in in our court. IMO, We won’t do anything except make sure our ships have stingers or better.

The United States has been conducting intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance missions in international waters in the Black Sea “for some time,” including before Russia’s 2022 invasion of Ukraine, a Pentagon spokesperson said Tuesday.

“The key point here is that while intercepts in and of themselves are not that uncommon, ... this type of behavior from these Russian pilots, that is uncommon and unfortunate and unsafe,” said Pentagon Press Secretary Brig. Gen. Pat Ryder.

Ryder said that Russia has not recovered the downed drone.

Ryder would not say whether the MQ-9 drone was armed, but added that the Defense Department is working to declassify imagery from the intercept.

There won’t be WW3 over a drone…relax guys.
It would be hard to explain the bombing of NYC and the MAD with Russia to the taxpayers compared to the cost of that drone.

It didn’t even happen when in international water some years ago the same thing involved two manned aircrafts with the Chinese pilot dead and the American one kept prisoner for weeks.

I think the uav should get fighter cover from now on then let them try to knock our UAV out of the sky again .......... and just for it we should give fighters to Ukraine.... just my thought...
