"US: China to Be Given More Time to Pressure North Korea ... Less than a day after U.S. Vice President Mike Pence declared 'the era of strategic patience is over' regarding North Korea ... the current administration is giving Beijing time to use its economic and political influence on Pyongyang ... North Korea's deputy ambassador to the United Nations, Kim In Ryong, accused the United States of pushing the Korean peninsula 'to the brink of a war,' warning that a 'thermo-nuclear war may break out at any moment on the peninsula' ... It is a questionable whether Trump is serious about the use of force against Kim or just bluffing to pressure him and the Chinese, according to one analyst. The national security adviser, General H.R. McMaster, and Defense Secretary Jim Mattis 'are well aware that North Korea is not Syria or Afghanistan, and that a military strike against the North is a risky gambit whose full import is impossible to anticipate,' a former CIA analyst on Korean issues, Sue Mi Terry, told VOA ... it is yet unclear what is replacing strategic patience"

China and North Korea are in secret talks about the isolated country’s nuclear program, according to reports.

American broadcaster NBC on Thursday quoted a U.S. government source as saying that China sent its “top nuclear negotiators” to the North to “communicate the gravity of the situation to the North.”

The report said that Pyongyang is demanding China ensure the North's security and economic gain and give a period of three years to abandon nuclear weapons. However, Beijing is reportedly asking the North to dismantle nuclear weapons within three months and to accept the offer within two to three weeks.
Another secret talks between US and the North?

A senior South Korean journalist claims secret talks had begun between the U.S. and North Korea in New York to end the crisis.

The North's recent revival of a parliamentary foreign affairs commission was a "prelude" to the alleged bilateral dialogue, said Korea Economic editorial writer Jeong Kyu-jae.

He quoted unidentified sources as saying the U.S. will demand that North Korea permanently abandon, not freeze, its nuclear program.

The favors Washington is claimed to have offered in return for the North's permanent abandonment of its nuclear program include establishing a formal diplomatic relationship between Washington and Pyongyang and stationing an infantry outside Pyongyang, North Korea's capital, to protect the Kim Jong-un regime. Plus, the U.S. Navy would support the mission at North Korea's military port in Wonsan, according to the journalist.

"If the dialogue turns out to be productive, U.S. President Donald Trump might send his special envoy to the North in a clandestine manner in late April or early May," he said. "This is a scenario that will play out only when things unfold smoothly. If the talks are unsuccessful, the U.S. might consider a military strike as the next option."

I don't think Kim will entirely trust the U.S. plus Kim's Juche ideology.

"The report said that Pyongyang is demanding China ensure the North's security and economic gain and give a period of three years to abandon nuclear weapons".

LMAO! China has to be slapping them for thinking them or anyone in the world would be so gullible. I guess three years is the time needed for them to have perfected the nuclear miniaturization process and have them on accurate missiles.

Its high time to strike now while we can, with as little chance of any part of the south, Japan or Hawaii being nuked. Any later and all bets are off.

Nah NK is not shoot a nuke on Hawai or Japan neighter on the V.S because its the end of NK if they shoot.
So stupid is he not ill think .

If I am reading that right. The US wants access to NK Military and a Embassy (it says Infantry but I think its Embassy) in Pyongyang in exchange for aid I imagine and end its Nuclear program.

Yeah I am sure China would accept basically a US garrison on their soil. Even China doesn't have that access so why does the US government think North Korea will give to them?

I believe a lot of this us smoke. China is talking that's it, not U.S Trump / tillerson? Pence all said recently no talking and strategic patience over. I have been around along time and seen this country DPRK time and again break agreements.I look at at actions and what a country does and not says...When I see China building hospitals on DPRK border to help with refugees AFTER a important meeting with XI and trump tells me U.S has had enough. When I see u.s move the number of military assets to region tells me that DPRK time is running out!!! Trump said Mike pence said a1 more nuclear test or mssle shot towards Japan u.s will respond. So if DPRK rests s nuke and they WILL we will act..DPRK will test a nuke or shoot at Japan a missle and they will miscalculate trump and u.s there you go.That part of Asia is economically and strategically important to us.China is our no.1 trading partner and Japan is number 4 and ROK is up there too.So yes its vital DPRK is stopped.

Trump said he is not gonna ever hint when and if u.s strikes.Unlike past presidents. So one day DPRK does stupid and bam war.
