On May 8 at 16:15, an #explosion occurred from the summit crater of Minamidake at #Sakurajima, with the height of the plume reaching 3,500 m, #ashfall flowing toward the southeast, and a large volume of ejected material observed.

There’s been a deadly eruption at Mount Dukono in Indonesia today. Authorities now say at least 3 hikers have died, with at least 10 still missing and rescue teams continuing searches on the volcano tonight. The eruption sent ash around 10km into the sky and happened despite an exclusion zone already being in place because of increased volcanic activity.

I know the ring of fire is always active, but when you have fatalities, I think it is noteworthy to post here. IMO
