What is EVIL

"Good" and "evil" are both insidious concepts that should only ever be used with the utmost care - much like firearms. In fact, you can get by perfectly well without using them at all - but I do concede that most of us need to rely on that mental crutch.

Throughout history people have consistently been labeling their opponents as "evil", and then making up excuses for doing so. We're hardwired to want to do that. "Hell is other people" - to quote Sartre.

I, for one, automatically distrust anyone who's prone to pointing fingers and saying "this is good" and/or "this is evil".

IMO that is a false analogy. Or, more specifically - my personal bar for recognizing evil is far higher than for recognizing pornography.

This is because we all dearly want some things to be evil - whereas there is no similar bias as far as pornography is concerned.
 
Historically, the concept of "Good" and "Evil" is a human theological construct, and is therefore subject to the various belief structures of the different religions. Extreme Islam has referred to America as the "Great Satan" for decades. Most sects of Christians and Jews believe Muslims to be Evil. Maybe they're both right.
 
Just remember this.
If evil doesn’t exist, either in a persons “construct” or actual action.
Then no Good exist as a construct or act.

If neither exist then there is very little to justify existence other than eating and breeding. What a lovely world that would be.

This is the world that exists. We're just all collectively pretending otherwise.
