The Senate on Tuesday passed a measure that would make Daylight Saving Time permanent across the United States.

I wouldn't mind seeing it end because I hate the early darkness in the winter. How about you?

I absolutely hate Daylight Savings Time. And we already tried a year-round DST in the 70's under Jimmy Carter. It was a failure because children were going to school in the dark. Experiment lasted one year before they tossed it.

I like daylight savings time for several reasons. One of them is I can now sleep until 0400 instead of being awaken at 0300 for the dogs wanting to go outside to pee. LOL I call that EDT (eastern dog time) Seriously, of course, I'm retired, but I do work outside quite a bit. When it gets dark so early with standard time, it is somewhat aggravating. It does also save on the power bill a little bit, so that helps. Now, sure, I certainly understand about ones who have school age children, but if the schools could start an hour later, that should at least make it a little safer for the ones who have to use the school bus.

I like the dark. So I especially like winter. Plus it is bogus that it is still light out during Trick-or-Treat!

Yes, I don't like how they added extra days of DST. Our schedule used to sync up with the Europeans and the Aussies, and it used to get dark for Halloween. I honestly think we should be on year-round standard time.
