Every self-respecting physics lab has highly radioactive sources for calibrating Geiger counters, also people are forgetting that Russia has metric butt-loads of this stuff. If they wanted an untraceable dirty bomb, the Russians have enough material to cover all of Ukraine probably a fair few times over (I seriously doubt this will happen btw).

Edit: Due to trade restrictions, I wouldn't be surprised if the Russians were taking the equipment back to their physics labs as it'll be top quality stuff for essentially free.

Yeah but look at this way any dirty bomb ever used that has isotopes traced back to Ukraine and highly suspect now😏
