Much as I’m utterly disgusted by the Russians’ actions in Ukraine, I don’t see how this would work practically considering the fact Russia has mandatory service for adult males

This is why I have been trying to focus on what journalists are directly observing and reporting as facts. The challenge during war is that local politicians may say anything. And it may be true, it may not be true, and it may be a mixture of truth and something else. It has been very difficult to tell giving constant evolving situation and very clear information operations of Russia, Ukraine, and others nations with vested interest. But an AFP journalist directly observing is a different level of fact.
Human rights watch is there as well as reporting the same. This is why I have been trying to focus on what journalists are directly observing and reporting as facts. AFP in Bucha, Ukraine: "Serhii Kaplychnyi, who identified himself as head of the rescue services in Bucha" - "a local official..." "showed AFP the slit trench where the bodies lay" - this we have as likely "fact."

Mass grave with 57 bodies in Bucha: Ukrainian official - Europe - The Jakarta Post
"Here in this long grave, 57 people are buried," said Serhii Kaplychnyi, who identified himself as head of the rescue services in Bucha and who was organising the recovery of the bodies.www.thejakartapost.com
Yea the reports alone are horrifying to say the least...Human rights watch is there as well as reporting the same.
This is going to escalate, no I do t mean nuclear! Today there are three or four nato tankers orbiting over Poland and Romania. The signet planes flying either don’t need tankers or can’t refuel from them anyway.Poland Deputy Prime Minister Yaroslav Kaczynski said in an interview with the German newspaper Welt am Sonntag that Poland would be open to deployment of USA nuclear weapons - reportedly states: "If the Americans asked to deploy nuclear weapons in Poland, we would be available. This would strengthen the containment of Moscow"

I doubt that the US will, though. If the US is so adamant about reducing nuclear tensions, such as with cancelling a Minuteman launch, they're not going to deploy nukes in Russia's backyard in the midst of an active war. So long as that stays true, Russia isn't gonna attack Poland. This is going to escalate, no I do t mean nuclear! Today there are three or four nato tankers orbiting over Poland and Romania. That is a lot of refueling support in the air that has to be supporting a lot nato planes in the boarder region with transponders off.
Understood. I was referencing the specific war crimes and level of them. The HRW report that I saw was very limited in scope. I learned my lesson on reports from local politicians. Maybe true, maybe not, maybe something in between.Human rights watch is there as well as reporting the same.
I see political figures in Russia, Europe, USA, Asia, etc. all using the Russia-Ukraine war to pose and posture for their own agendas, which may have something to do with facts and reality, may not, and may or may not have anything to do with security and/or peace. It is important to note that a Deputy PM of Poland stated this publicly to press, but that is probably as far as it goes.I doubt that the US will, though. If the US is so adamant about reducing nuclear tensions, such as with cancelling a Minuteman launch, they're not going to deploy nukes in Russia's backyard in the midst of an active war. So long as that stays true, Russia isn't gonna attack Poland.
It is amazing you think that the world needs to exploit Russia and will fall apart without Russian resources and that we will have to depend on our windmills, lol. Why would the world want to poke its nose into Russia? Russia just started a war that is involving the entire world. Russia has generally been a bad actor in world politics for a very long time. They use military threats all the time. Their actions have caused sanctions to be imposed. It would be great if the Russians could be trusted and a mutually beneficial economic and energy exchange enacted....but alas, Russian started a war. There is no getting around that. For the record....I can't recall seeing a single windmill in any parts of my country that I have traveled. That would be great.
Then, stop poking your nose into my country. You don't need these resources? Then sit tight at home and enjoy your windmill.
You also just made a point yourself, that all those economy sanctions against Russia would be imposed anyway. It's all set in stone. Whether this invasion happened or not - Russia would be sanctioned anyway.
True, but a Putin controlled Russia can not be allowed back at the world table to conduct business as usual. That would render any world organization meaningless (some argue they already are). Putin's leadership here has to have consequences to him and Russia. Russia is in a bad way right now.I’m not for regime change in Russia, no indications what would come would be better and Central Asia would become even more messed up.
I’m for Russia quiting Ukraine and their troops being withdrawn.
It is amazing how under equipped the Russian troops have been. The entire Chernobyl deployment astounds me. Those men and those they come in contact with are in serious trouble.besides time is against Russian troops that drove threw the red forest and inhaled that dust they are are walking dead troops now, reports that no NBC suits used by troops while they drove threw...
the red forest has been a no go zone since Chernobyl exploded in the 80's and will be for the next 1000 years
Dude is old school KGB. Strongman to his core. That is all he knows. You can only deal with a strongman one way....the way I see it is Putin is a bully who likes to steal your lunch money one day if you dont give him a sack he will just keep getting your lunch money................
Thank you.It never ends, would it be possible to provide a source for this claim. Or is that what we call in fly over america a “WAG” wild ass guess.
In practice it would be impossible because clearly you can't accuse men who are forced to serve as being terrorists, but I do like the sentiment, lol.Much as I’m utterly disgusted by the Russians’ actions in Ukraine, I don’t see how this would work practically considering the fact Russia has mandatory service for adult males
It’s also not a good idea to have civilian combatants either because this motivates the sentiment that committing war crimes is justified. Neither of the belligerents have clean hands. In practice it would be impossible because clearly you can't accuse men who are forced to serve as being terrorists, but I do like the sentiment, lol.
I agree. This is fast being acknowledged as a humanitarian crisis now and I believe that may be used as justification for the world to enter the fray. We may be seeing the staging of this. This is going to escalate, no I do t mean nuclear! Today there are three or four nato tankers orbiting over Poland and Romania. The signet planes flying either don’t need tankers or can’t refuel from them anyway.
That is a lot of refueling support in the air that has to be supporting a lot nato planes in the boarder region with transponders off.
Correction six nato tankers over eastern Poland and Romania
I think the US not shooting off the Minuteman is more about not providing Putin an excuse to launch by claiming we fired first. Deploying of nukes does not give Putin that same excuse in my opinion. Poland is a NATO country, so it should be expected that the West would have a presence there in whatever form. Russia will not attack Poland because that would be the end of Russia as it currently exists....providing nukes are not involved in which case we all suffer an invasion of Poland and it could be the end of us all.I doubt that the US will, though. If the US is so adamant about reducing nuclear tensions, such as with cancelling a Minuteman launch, they're not going to deploy nukes in Russia's backyard in the midst of an active war. So long as that stays true, Russia isn't gonna attack Poland.
if you watch that video in negative you can clearly see that the arm movement is glare off vehicle windscreenGood catch. Thank you for posting that.
