If China takes Pelosi hostage, how many would contribute money for her release?
This isn't about Pelosi anymore. It's about principles and not letting China win.If China takes Pelosi hostage, how many would contribute money for her release?
It was just a joke. We all know no one would contribute for Pelosi's freedom. lolThis isn't about Pelosi anymore.
In all reality, this is a losing fight. The U.S. won't put up what it takes to keep Taiwan free. It's about principles and not letting China win.
That island is important not just for infrastructure and it's people but also for its strategic location and ability to be used as a staging area to keep China contained. I find Taiwan to be in a similar position of importance to Britain's in ww2. I don't think the USA would let it go quite so easily. Possibly the Chinese don't think so either otherwise Taiwan would already be theirs. It was just a joke. We all know no one would contribute for Pelosi's freedom. lol

The best thing the U.S. can do is to let anyone in Taiwan who wants to move to the U.S.. Drain Taiwan of its brains, remove its high tech infrastructure, and let China have an empty husk of an island.
We aren't keeping China contained in that area. The U.S. won't put the resources into it.That island is important not just for infrastructure and it's people but also for its strategic location and ability to be used as a staging area to keep China contained. We may not have a choice in the matter.Still, we aren't going to fight for it
Im willing to pay China to take good care of her. Food, housing, streaming west wing for her to bing watch….”If China takes Pelosi hostage, how many would contribute money for her release?
And when it happens, the U.S. will not put in the resources to beat China. That is the problem. We may not have a choice in the matter.
I wouldn't be so sure of this. For many reasons. Biggest reason is Taiwan chip manufacturing capability and the brains to do it.the U.S. will not put in the resources to beat China.
Not letting China win doesn't mean defeat or stopping a takeover of Tawain. This isn't about Pelosi anymore. It's about principles and not letting China win.
Of which China is well aware. And in this particular case they can probably get the fatso in Pyongyang to do their dirty work for them.Anyway, South Korea is the world's largest manufacturer.
Nah US commitment to Seoul is rock solid. No one is invading SK unless they have a death wish.Of which China is well aware. And in this particular case they can probably get the fatso in Pyongyang to do their dirty work for them.
No one is invading South Korea unless they want to be radioactive dust floating in the upper atmosphere...Nah US commitment to Seoul is rock solid. No one is invading SK unless they have a death wish.
Nothing about this is "simple". It's unlikely Taiwanese specialists would want to emigrate to the US en masse. This ain't 1945 Germany. And China doesn't want Taiwan for its chips (though I'm sure they regard that as a nice bonus). Not letting China win simply only needs to include preventing them from getting the chip scientists/brains and 100% destroy chip manufacturing network & factories in Taiwan.
This presumably requires turning Taiwan into a "braindead & crippled rocky island" before China invades. I'm not convinced the Taiwanese government would go along with this policy...Not much of a win taking control of a "braindead" & crippled rocky island.
Yes they most certainly would. It's the scientific minds that are very well aware of the CCP toxic tendency & tyranny which enlightened, educated, smart people are usually well aware of. They are bright minds and only way to shine bright is in a free open society. Not to mention the US limitless bank account for investing in their scientific work and being paid handsomely to do so.Nothing about this is "simple". It's unlikely Taiwanese specialists would want to emigrate to the US en masse
It's the very main reason. And China doesn't want Taiwan for its chips
When the War starts Taiwan government will be a hollow shell and won't have much or any say in the matter. People will jump at the chance to flee to the free world. History proves this.I'm not convinced the Taiwanese government would go along with this policy...![]()
If your assuming Taiwan will fall in days/weeks your wrong. Just like how many thought Ukraine would fall in days or weeks. This presumably requires turning Taiwan into a "braindead & crippled rocky island" before China invades.
You and I apparently have different views on how long the US is likely to remain a "free open society", or at least be regarded as such by "enlightened, educated, smart people" throughout the world.Yes they most certainly would. It's the scientific minds that are very well aware of the CCP toxic tendency & tyranny which enlightened, educated, smart people are usually well aware of. They are bright minds and only way to shine bright is in a free open society.
While I understand your meaning in this. I think it is in some ways sad. Your priorities are chip manufacturing when there is the independence and future of a nation is at stake. Not letting China win doesn't mean defeat or stopping a takeover of Tawain.

China can still lose (not win) even if they take Taiwan by making sure the brains & the factories do not fall into Chinas control. Not much of a win taking control of a "braindead" & crippled rocky island.
If we didn't take the brains or sabotage the factories the Tawain military/Gov would sabotage it themselves with or without us & the scientists would flee to other nations, so might as well be us the only nation that has been there for them or seriously fought for their stability & independence on the world theater. While I understand your meaning in this. I think it is in some ways sad. Your priorities are chip manufacturing when there is the independence and future of a nation is at stake.
