Chinese Covid Lockdowns Lifted

Well if the Chinese want to tank their economy that's up to them.
The whole point of lockdowns is to stop a sudden, massive spike in COVID-19 cases that overloads the health system, and instead produces a steady trickle of cases.

You can't stop COVID-19 with lockdowns, only slow it down so your health system doesn't collapse.
 
Every time I see a news report of new lockdown in China and zero covid policy.
I aways wonder what is it they know about covid that there not telling everyone.

It's that their vaccines don't work.

And the western mRNA tech not only works as a covid vaccine, but, now it's been tested in the real world, has incredible potential.

But, you know, it's not Chinese, so they won't use it ... until a Chinese uni 'invents' a clone of it.

Whether or not theirs or other vaccines work Is irrelevant in China's case. Even if they are 99% effective, their's is a zero tolerance policy. So if even 1 case is confirmed, wherever it is found is locked down completely.

But why is this their policy?

Because the latest covid variants still cause severe disease even when patients have been 'vaccinated' with sino-X vaccines..

Yes if covid where to run wild on China it would be particularly worse for them then anyone else. They have such closely packed cities, their urban areas are just so densely packed. Then you have to take into consideration just the sheer number of elderly people living in China too. They have a very high aging population compared to rest of world which are the most vulnerable to covid.

They went hardcore with social score in China. They like to have a lot of control over the life of their citizens.

Also, a nice way to create shortages and chaos in USA.
 
I think I’ve figured it out and I could be incorrect but here is a theory for their continued zero covid policy.
Not that they are wrong to have policies to control it. But a zero covid policy is simply not doable with an endemic disease.

It’s a distraction from a seriously struggling economic situation for them.
Exports are suffering and they have all these large industrial cities and not enough work for their populations.

Seriously what better way to cover for factories with no orders than a emergency health lock down.
I haven’t done the legwork to look at the cities and factory orders versus lockdown locations. But it is the most plausible theory I’ve come up with.
