Well, if people would stop trying to gut it, maybe we could actually adjust it for inflation properly.....
Also, it hasnt kept up with inflation in a very long time. The social security benefits used to be a livable wage, that actually reflected the amount people worked+inflation, but that hasnt been the case in many decades.
