The Biden administration only informed the public after a local news station in Montana got lucky with the story. Who knows if they would have said anything at all or even shot it down over the Atlantic if no one knew it was there?
To my conservative and liberal friends: We cannot trust the government, regardless of who is in office. We cannot fix this problem until more people realize this.

I know they said they tracked it but I don't believe it. I think it was undetected till it got over the lower 48. You can bet though that any future balloons will be detected because the radar signature and any electronic emissions it made are in the computers now and being studied like we do for any military equipment. We can tell what ship it is just by the acoustic signature of their propellers. IMO of course.

Biden MADE a presidential decision; you just don't agree with it. He took the advice of his military advisors, which was to NOT shoot it down; he issued that order, which the generals then complied with.
And lest you think I'm being some kind of Biden apologist, I'm not sure *I* agree with that decision either. But I'm not going to crucify him for it.

I don't think it's him so much as the pentagon got embarrassed by getting caught by civilians. I do blame his administration for some of the people that head up these government agencies though. Sometimes politics gets in the way of who's right for the job. That's true for both sides. IMO

Let me tell you all a story about a balloon of hot air
It took off from China and it flew from there to here
Then One day when they were looking at radars
And out from the screen came a balloon the size of cars
Silver that is, with big black things hangin down
Well The next thing you know the brass were running all around
The President said “Hey shoot the damn thing down”
They said ”The Carolinas is the place we otta be”
So they loaded up the jets and they flew them out to sea!
And we all new how the ballad ends.
I think we’re pretty close to getting all the air out of this thread.
it can go on for awhile longer, but please, let’s keep politics out of this.
