Whatever it is, it’s a powerful statement that might bring some nations to the table for talks. Talks that otherwise might not have happened. Perhaps even some nations that hate America might throw in. This statement alarms me more than most.
Especially since more and more nations hate USA, I'm thinking of Africa and South America

Nope, it doesn't work that way. The countries bordering Russia - which this announcement is aimed at - are far more afraid of Russia than they are of America. This is a universal feeling among the former USSR republics, even ones which are ostensibly on good diplomatic terms with Putin. And who can blame them, really? If you lived next door to Russia - which is now waging an imperialist war of conquest in Ukraine - would you be inviting Russian nukes (which come with a side order of Russian troops, mind you - not to mention all the fine print which you would be required to sign) - all because of some irrational hatred for America?

Lukashenko is actually viewed as something of a pariah in this club of dictators: the guy who sold out and got shafted. And what he's now saying is: "if you let Russia annex your country, Russia will place its nuclear weapons on your territory."

Nobody's gonna buy into that. Dictators may like nukes, but they like staying in power more.

You don't think Iran would join? Or Venezuela?
The way I understand Luka's offer is that you first have to join the "Union State" (which is basically USSR 2.0) before any nukes are moved. Not a chance in hell Iran would cede its sovereignty to Russia like that, and I suspect Venezuela wouldn't bite either (plus, the whole deal is unworkable given the geographic considerations).

In other words minimally at best a psyop media event attempting to move public opinion for negotiations in the west.
The problem is lukashenko is anything but a credible player when it come to public announcements.
I’m actually surprised Putin would use him this way. Does Putin actually believe lukashenko has any credibility in the west.
Of course it does give some thin fodder for Russian disinformation sources in the west.
And as far as any possible proliferation concerns. Well that cat has been out of the bag for 20yrs. Russia and China have tacitly approved and potentially aided DPRK for decades.
So nothing really new here.
Have the US and polish president announce the placement of nukes in Poland. Hell throw in Romania and Finland. This is just bluster.

This whole effort of Russia reaching out to African nations is really very interesting. I’m having flashbacks to the sixties and seventies where the Soviets were trying spread their influence under the guise of the international workers party BS.
When does the revolution start again in Angola.
I wonder if Cuba will send troops.
It will probably be Venezuelan revolutionary solders this time around.

Really think about it it’s the same cookie cutter approach of the Soviets in the 60’s and 70’s.
I don’t know if I should be concerned or laugh.

Wow would you look at that the shining. Path are on the offensive yet again in Peru.

Still using 40yr old political manipulation tactics to peck away at the west.
Did it work the last time?

Seriously we’re still measuring ball size and weight with vainglorious Russian tyrants.
Maybe Russia does need fractured and distributed amongst various regional states.

Open question are the drones being seen over Moscow as reported on Twitter actual Ukrainian drones?

We’re left to assume Ukraine is launching in daylight noisy non-stealth drones and flying them over 500km across Russia and only being tracked and engaged over a metropolitan area?

This is really weak. Someone feel free to correct me on the technology issues of range and flight control on any of this.
On top of that one of the drones shown on one link looked a lot like the Iranian Ababil-2 drone.

If I’m all wet on this someone feel free to correct me.

I don't think it's something Putin told him to do. Rather, I would interpret it as a (feeble) attempt by Lukashenko to show he retains some agency. Russia is in the process of slowly annexing Belarus, so Luka will need to pretent he's still in power.

Reminds me of a PNG handshake where on meeting it is not unusual to feel the weight of each others scrotum. Finding out who had the bigger balls quite literally.

Interesting to see Russian response should those planes enter Russian airspace. 🤔🧐 yes I already understand western thinking on this so I wouldn't waste your time , it's Russian thinking I'm a little concerned about. Incriminates run out eventually then again if it goes wrong plausible deniability shouldn't be much of an issue. 🤝👍

One Twitter persons perspective on the drones
I have been seeing those drone videos in Moscow and I was thinking something feels off.But hearing Prigozhin “exploding” makes me wonder whether neither Ukraine nor the Kremlin are responsible for this but somebody in Russia with ambition, like him.

And this the outcome of the mystery drone attacks? A reason to expand the war. Some are calling the drones of nato origin.
That is the question... that the NATO-Ukraine attacks against the Moscow capital are being "normalized" and there is an increasing feeling that Russia is ineffective in defending Moscow itself, allowing drones to enter its airspace (and who knows if missiles in the near future). Russia has the means to end the matter u © [email protected]. Stop getting bogged down in absurd battles (Artemovsk) and go to the heart of the problem. Putin is starting to annoy me

Not sure how to take this. 10 drones breaching RU airspace and making it all the way to the capital before being shot down. Have I got that right?

Something doesn't smell quite right to me...

Well it sure doesn’t sound like Russian air defenses are very good. The one with canard wings was making enough noise to be heard from inside.
Again I could be all wet on this but I seriously doubt these drones were launched from anywhere but inside Russia.
If anyone who might have some expertise in this please chime in if I’m incorrect.
