I am keen to know where this goes from here.
We should all be looking at this closely.

It's slower than expected, but it's too soon to tell whether the counter-offensive as a whole has failed. I recommend reading ISW's reports.Current counteroffensive ‘not decisive’ – Kiev
There will be “many counter-offensives,” FM Dmitry Kuleba told a state broadcaster

In other words - the offensive failed.

Agreed, but there's no political will to make that happen. "An army of sheep led by a lion is better than an army of lions led by a sheep" - goes the old saying. There's no major political party in either the US or Japan that would be seriously thinking about gearing up for war. As regards the US, the Democrats still seem to believe this can be "managed" at no cost to domestic policy, while the Republicans have now fully embraced this newfangled concept where you can simply pretend problems don't exist.![]()
Kind of reminds me of the the bridge connecting Belleville to St Louis across the Mississippi River.
One picture Saldo posted on Telegram showed a large hole in the bridge’s surface with water visible beneath it and debris scattered nearby.

They have been doing that from the beginning. How long before Putin and the Russian cucks try to flip the tables and claim victim?
I would agree the counteroffensive has not proceeded as efficiently as it could have.Ukrainian counteroffensive not meeting US expectations – CNN
In its early phases, Ukraine’s counteroffensive is having less success and Russian forces are showing more competence than western assessments expected, two western officials and a senior US military official tell CNN.

Just a note to say that this is not official US policy. This is two people trying to advance it as such.
And if it does become official policy?Just a note to say that this is not official US policy. This is two people trying to advance it as such.
I don't see this happening.
it’s so vague it doesn’t really matter. And if it does become official policy?
It would essentially place Ukraine under the U.S. nuclear umbrella. And if it does become official policy?
So the US could just make a threaty with Ukraine I supose? Like they have with None NATO contries like South Korea, and Japan forexampleIt would essentially place Ukraine under the U.S. nuclear umbrella.
Legally, the phrasing of the proposal is itself unenforceable. How does passing a resolution in the US obligate NATO?
This is symbolic and nothing else. Those two Senators know there isn't a chance of that passing.
Sure. Will they?So the US could just make a threaty with Ukraine I supose?
The West has said it will support Ukraine on whatever it decides. Weather it be taking back every inch of territory or wanting to make a peace deal/treaty. Will be entirly up to Ukraine if they want to keep fighting for their freedom, land, and their very identity or make a deal with the the devil that only postpones the war. But will again be entirly up to Ukraine. Will they?
That wasn't what the question was about. The question was asking if the US will make a defense treaty with Ukraine, pledging to attack Russia if Russia nukes Ukraine. The West has said it will support Ukraine on whatever it decides.
You can ask why havent they done it alrdy, the main reason prolly being "the Russian Sphere of interrest" but does that not only cover expansion of NATO? Ukraine does not need to have nukes on their land to be under the umbrella. But I guess they dont like patriot systems that alrdy operate there. So what is stopping the US? Ukraine not willing to pay the Price?Sure. Will they?

All it takes is the right trigger. Most Americans were anti war at the start of WW2 until Japan attacked pearl harbour and attitudes changed overnight. Given the right trigger attitudes could change overnight again but would most likely require something on US soil.Agreed, but there's no political will to make that happen. Americans like to snipe at each other, but nothing brings them together faster than being attacked. See 9/11.Most Americans were anti war at the start of WW2 until Japan attacked pearl harbour and attitudes changed overnight.
