It's slower than expected, but it's too soon to tell whether the counter-offensive as a whole has failed. I recommend reading ISW's reports.

A fair point. It would have to be something existentially serious for Americans to support a mobilization like that. And in the nuclear age, anything serious enough to warrant that sort of production retooling would likely kill everyone before the first GM tank could roll of the line.

Kind of reminds me of the the bridge connecting Belleville to St Louis across the Mississippi River.
Could see day light in holes on the roadway for years.

I would agree the counteroffensive has not proceeded as efficiently as it could have.
Russia has seemed to protects some AirPower.
Does it change anything in the long run?

With the recent joint action in the US congress more and more effective weapons seem to be on the way.

Loosen you belts and have a seat this war will go on for another year.
By the fall there will be serious discussions about sending limited nato troops into Ukraine.
Blowing the Dam on the Dinipro successfully deflected the some of Ukraines offensive plans. But it’s just a hiccup. Russia is now desperately fighting for a stalemate and war weariness in the west.
We will see.

Legally, the phrasing of the proposal is itself unenforceable. How does passing a resolution in the US obligate NATO?

This is symbolic and nothing else. Those two Senators know there isn't a chance of that passing.

So the US could just make a threaty with Ukraine I supose? Like they have with None NATO contries like South Korea, and Japan forexample

The West has said it will support Ukraine on whatever it decides. Weather it be taking back every inch of territory or wanting to make a peace deal/treaty. Will be entirly up to Ukraine if they want to keep fighting for their freedom, land, and their very identity or make a deal with the the devil that only postpones the war. But will again be entirly up to Ukraine.

The US has made that very clear. Where not going to force Ukraine to do anything and will support any action/decisions they so choose to take.

It's their country and therefore their decision as stated many times by Blinken and other US officials.

That wasn't what the question was about. The question was asking if the US will make a defense treaty with Ukraine, pledging to attack Russia if Russia nukes Ukraine.

You can ask why havent they done it alrdy, the main reason prolly being "the Russian Sphere of interrest" but does that not only cover expansion of NATO? Ukraine does not need to have nukes on their land to be under the umbrella. But I guess they dont like patriot systems that alrdy operate there. So what is stopping the US? Ukraine not willing to pay the Price?

All it takes is the right trigger. Most Americans were anti war at the start of WW2 until Japan attacked pearl harbour and attitudes changed overnight. Given the right trigger attitudes could change overnight again but would most likely require something on US soil.
