Hurricane Milton CAT 4 Heading For Tampa Bay/Sarasota --(CLOSED)

Throughout the day, our @FEMA workforce has been on the ground, pre-positioning resources to support state and local response ahead of Hurricane #Milton.

Includes:
➡️ 300 ambulances.
➡️ 30 High Water Vehicles with ladders from @DeptofDefense.
➡️ 2 incident staging bases with commodities including 20 million meals & 40 million liters of water.
➡️ 6 FEMA Incident Management Assistance Teams.
➡️ 5 FEMA Urban Search & Rescue teams.
➡️ 4 HealthCare System Assessment Teams.
➡️ 3 @USCG Swift Water Rescue teams.
➡️ 2 U.S. Army Corps of Engineers temporary power teams.
➡️ Army Corps debris experts & @EPA wastewater expert.

Probably by tomorrow. They also have city cleanup crews & dump sites now working 24/7 to make sure there's no debris from the last hurricane laying around that will become projectiles.

Convoys of dump trucks throughout the night are moving all through Pinellas County being escorted by police with their cherries and berries to secure debris so it doesn't become projectiles.

The grounds already saturated, there is debris everywhere still, it's only been a week since the last hurricane and there are still some people without power from the last hurricane. And now there's another one that's relatively unprecedented on its way.

It looks (in some areas) and feels like a war zone here.

Jesus, we are in trouble. SOS Tampa Bay. 120 MPH wind for whole Tampa Bay area, all models virtually agree. Bullseye Tampa Bay.

This whole fucking area for over 100 years never been delt this. A lot of old buildings here that have never been rebuilt, a lot of old big trees that will fall on power lines an houses, so many people live here in such a small area.... it's like slowly watching yourself getting flatten by a construction steamroller....

I know not everyone on here agrees on everything. Shit, far from it. But I sincerely hope you make it through this clusterfuck safely

I’m genuinely worried. I know a fair few people in Florida. I know the main trauma center in Tampa was built on an island at sea level…god this is gonna be the storm of the century.

Thank you. I am actually pretty nervous. This hotel I'm in should hold in Largo Florida, the peninsula on the peninsula. But there's so much that could go wrong. Especially after the hurricane.

I am genuinely nervous. I'm not too nervous about the flooding or the wind I have faith in the hotel I'm staying in and the hotel is not in a flood zone. I am more worried about what comes after the fact.

There are millions of people in this area in a very small area. This could be one of the largest humanitarian disasters America has ever seen if it hits directly. A lot are going to die.

Be careful RiffRaff the Bay Area looks like it is going to get hammered with winds and storm surge. The bay is only going to magnify the surge I would think
