19forytfive.com cites unnamed intelligence officials as saying China will launch an invasion of Taiwan in approximately six months' time.

Allegedly, senior CCP officials are convinced the US is "unwilling or unable" to defend Taiwan against a Chinese invasion.

China doesn’t even have the physical capability to do this yet. This article doesn’t even provide the country these supposed intelligence officials are from. It also quotes the Chinese ambassador’s response to the trade war as proof they’re going to invade Taiwan. Nobody else has reported anything about this, this is the only source that has gotten anonymous tips from these people and deemed them reliable to publish and the article is 4 days old so somebody else with a bigger audience would’ve gotten something.

Well that hasn't stopped world powers from invading other countries in the laat three years lol, Dictators aren't very good at thinking logically😅 I'd need a bit more than some unnamed int officer crying wolf if I'm being honest.

Yeah but at least Russia could physically drive across the border 😂. China doesn’t have the naval capacity to even make it there.

Ahead of the one year anniversary of President Lai's inauguration and several upcoming civil defense drills in Taipei, the government has released videos emphasizing the importance of involvement.

The largest of these "urban resilience" exercises will be held in Taipei over the summer.

I am also seeing a lot of "invasion is imminent" articles today. Can we start a discussion topic for 2025?
The best most immediate thing we could do right now is sell the patient on the ageis shore to Taiwan, let them building their own. Then start build SM-3 and SM-6 interceptor missiles like it’s 1942.
ROK will go nuclear within two years if DPRK does not change course, Japan by 2030.

A side effect of the U.S.'s perceived isolationism (not debating whether it is true in principle) is inevitably nuclear proliferation.

Many of the other references are behind paywalls, so I won't bother posting those.

I have yet to see evidence of a PRC buildup, but the DoD may know something the rest of us don't. Or it could just be rhetoric.

The moving of Abrams tanks to Taiwan though...

Can you provide a source to that?

Feels like rhetoric honestly. "The threat China poses is real. And it could be imminent. We hope not but certainly could be." - could being an important distinction.
