India-Russia-China Up & US Relations Down

They very well might, but doing nothing and just borrowing more money is a sure path to trouble.
Life and politics is about risk mitigation. There is no sure thing
You do trealise that Trump's policies are massively adding to the US national debt?

The ONLY way that this is sustainable is if interest rates remain low. Interest rates cannot remain low in the long term if the rest of the world turns away from using the USD as their primary means of payment for international trade.

what do you think the prime rate is currently? The 20 year average prime rate is 7%. The prime rate is currently is 7.5%.
this is the 20yr prime chart
Of 9 of the last 15 yrs it’s been at 3.5%.
I think there is room to move on the prime rate. And what savings effect on US debt do you thing one or two basis points will have while the US economy is deregulated and overseas investment is encouraged.
I am not a cut throat conservative, sometimes you have to spend or invest to earn money. But your right the money supply and the cost of its effects on US debt is massive. Thats why the push to lower the interest rate.
Remember Reagan

Introspect and see what went wrong and why your policy towards an ally has gone so horribly wrong.
The question is what kind of an ally was India to start with
maybe next time we will set back during the next Pak India spat.

What I know is this dust up is more telling on the reliability of India as a partner.
And remember what the US was asking was not about long term trade balances. It was about ending a war.
and I know you claim Indias increased oil purchases from Russia had nothing to do with Russia being able to prolong the war.

The next time we’ll remember that US has no vested or tangential interest in what happens to the subcontinent of Asia.

Seriously? You can’t blame someone for
how they react to your provocative actions. It is the US that has demonstrated they were never our ally. Or maybe they were, until this year.

It’s funny to see you getting mad about us engaging with Russia and China. Was Trump not smiling with Putin last week while negotiating a trade deal with China? If I recall correctly, he even invited Xi to his inauguration. So why is the US allowed to engage with Putin and Xi while we aren’t?

America has continued to engage with Pakistan, even more before we ever spoke to Putin or Xi. The Pakistani military sent nuclear threats from US soil to India. Don’t act like you’re not to blame.

That is an opinion with no support Even Trump hating MSNBC sees through it.
Request to reduce Russian oil purchase were soundly rejected by India and the tariffs went up.
It I know it’s purely an economic decision by India to increase oil purchase from Russia. Who gives a shit about a war in Europe right, not Indias problem.

Then where are the same tariffs on Communist China?

Did you know the actual Russian oil isn’t sanctioned? India is in fact Ukraine’s largest supplier of diesel!

These tariffs have only been put in place because we didn’t nominate Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize and rejected his assertions of playing a role in the ceasefire.

I don’t know, Chinas shrewder. China in contrast to India has actually cut oil imports from Russia starting in the beginning of 2025. Knowing that they are in adversarial trade negotiation with the US. Whereas India just said no. Not just no, but hell no.

China can’t be cut off from processing all of Russias oil just as India cannot be expected to cut all Russian oil processing.

It will drive the price of crude up world wide. Which automatically offsets any reduction in Russian exports.

This is not about slamming the door to all gains for India. This is about managing the flow of oil Russia and its resulting profits.

In the first seven months of 2025, the Jamnagar refinery has imported 18.3 million tonnes of crude oil from Russia, a 64 percent year-on-year increase, and worth $8.7bn. RIL’s imports from Russia in the first seven months of 2025 are only 12 percent lower than the total imports in 2024,

Now Reliance industries plans to modestly cut Russian oil imports as additional tariffs take effect.

Navarro was wrong it wasn’t the Brahman caste who is exploiting Russian oil profits.
It is the Vaishyas (traders) caste that is exploiting Russian oil profits.
We know merchants and traders in the west too. Their profit motivated almost solely

Reliance industries ran by reportedly the richest man in Asia, Mukesh Ambani.

Maybe you’re not arguing for India here but, Mukesh Ambani the richest man in Asia.

Okay, let's break this down point by point.

1) China has actually cut oil imports from Russia in the beginning of 2025, knowing they are in an adversarial trade negotiation with the US
Are you saying China has been more eager/willing to work on a trade deal than India? The same China that banned rare earth exports and whom you engaged briefly in a trade war with, while the Indian trade delegation actually voluntarily lowered some tariffs and approached the US proactively China still buy 47% of all Russian oil exports and only cut their imports by 11%, which was because Iran offered them a better deal. The Indian refinery you cite is cutting their oil imports by 22%, yet you use the term "modest" for us, but for China somehow that's a gesture of goodwill and adequate.

2) Bringing caste into this demonstrates a hollow understanding of the issue here. Nobody disagrees with you that Russian oil needs to be cut and that Modi and his friends have been profiteering off of it. In fact, I think Ambani is an oligarch who needs to be seriously looked into for bribery. The only point I've been mad about is that Trump's intentions seem misplaced and for some reason, he's singling India out alone.

I’m saying China and US are still in the negotiating process and China shrewdly cut imports to create a negotiating position. This was done proactively, India generated a 64% year on year increase in first half of 25. And then acted all indignant when tariffs. I’m saying India is being indignant over a weak position.

No! absolutely not I clarified the mistake of caste analogies made by Navarro.
The absolute fact remains in India as well as any nation or society there are always “merchant classes”/investment bankers/ banking conglomerates. Call them what you will but I’m done with this fake colonial oh don’t insult us argument.
That I used the Indian caste system was only to correct Navarro’s mistaken understanding. Unless of course your claiming India doesn’t have a wealthy corporate/familial institution that drives and directs much of Indias economy.

If you agree that India needs to adjust its Russian oil imports yet are shocked as the US reaction of Indias refusal.
While shifting blame and pointing to china.
You are ignoring India imports 87bil to the US while China imports 247bil to the US. Including rare earth minerals. You are ignoring the real world realities that China has unfortunately has a much stronger hand to play in trade negotiations with the US. That’s call real world politics.

So India can run to meet Xi Putin lushenko and Kim. Hope you like the company. India is still playing this Cold War non-aligned we won’t be publicly embarrassed angle to there own detriment
Just remember it was Chinese fighters who downed your planes. And Chinese troops who still are a challenge to your territorial claims in Kashmir. Oh and have as many identified revolutionary groups in India as Islamic terrorist groups.

One industrialist/corporate family it seems has been and continues to direct Indias economic policy and now their foreign policy.

You know what we actually agree on a lot! Genuinely. My point with the caste was saying that caste is not class; caste is a religious idea. Don't confuse the two terms. Point being, India didn't act indignant with tariffs - that's not true. As I've stated we've been early movers to get a trade deal.

That's just saying that you're scared of imposing the same costs on China, and you do it on us because we're an easy target.

Don't worry. We know China is an enemy, and I agree the US is a natural partner to us. Just the same way you should remember that it was Pakistan who sheltered OBL, and fueled terror in the US - the same Pakistan that flies U.S. F-16s.
