Direct hostilities? Against who? What is the military objective outside of Ukraine?Russia is at this moment actively provoking NATO and shaping the information space for direct hostilities.
I never said they're invading soon. "Direct hostilities" could include jet shootdowns and drone incursions if deliberate. There surely is the danger of miscalculation right now.Direct hostilities? Against who? What is the military objective outside of Ukraine?
For sure Russia is poking NATO at response times (been doing that since the Cold War) and reminding the world they are still there.
They lost, what, a third of their strategic bomber fleet in Operation Spider Web?
Unless they have another 3 armies squirreled away somewhere, they aren't invading anyone else.
You can't hide the buildup required for invasions from satellites thse days.
My recommendation: NATO needs to start intercepting some of these drone or aircraft that cross their airspace. Not necessarily shooting them down if they are manned, but escorting them.
Not gonna lie, starting to worry it all may hit the fan here soon…..Russia is at this moment actively provoking NATO and shaping the information space for direct hostilities.
Na ain't nothing going to happen. Not gonna lie, starting to worry it all may hit the fan here soon…..
I’m a bit more on edge than normal but I’m not overly worried. A lot of the statements coming from NATO leaders are in line with protocol that has existed for decades rather than policy changes. The fact the Russians are doing all these hybrid attacks is a sign of weakness that they’re trying to get us to stop supporting Ukraine, which is a pretty good indication they’re still trying to avoid getting into a war with NATO, they just want to cause panic and unrest because it’s easier. If they start having increases in Nuclear readiness, building up troops on the border, or taking other steps they would have to take before a large scale conflict I’d be more concerned. Not gonna lie, starting to worry it all may hit the fan here soon…..
I’m not an admin, but article 5 is the provision of the NATO treaty which states an attack against one is an attack against all. It must be declared unanimously by NATO members and requires all NATO members to provide some sort of assistance to the member which invoked the provision. It is NOT an instant war button as some imply and only states members must provide some form of assistance without specifying what type, members could send books if they wanted to and call it a response.Admin should post the protocol for article 5 as i think some here may not understand what that system is exactly.
Agree.Na ain't nothing going to happen.
Wake me when commercial satellites flag hard indicators like abnormal rail traffic to GUMO-(Main Directorate of the Ministry of Defence) depots, dispersal of nuclear capable TELs, transloading at railheads, perimeter/security surges, or unusual activity at SSBN-(Nuclear Powered Ballistic Missile Submarine) piers and long range bomber bases. That’s the difference between chatter and a crisis and in 2025 it’s visible to anyone with a browser its not a crisis. Not even close yet. Are we moving in that direction? Eh... not...
