Beijing exported repression into New York City:

A U.S. federal jury convicted Lu Jianwang on May 13, 2026, for acting as an illegal agent of the PRC in connection with operating an overseas police station in lower Manhattan for China’s Ministry of Public Security. DOJ says he was also convicted of obstruction for destroying related evidence.
