No official explanation, and the Kremlin says it has no information on the plane.Then you’ve got unconfirmed reports that the mission is connected to an upcoming trip by Pete Hegseth.And now… a whole convoy with U.S. diplomatic plates is cruising through Moscow with police escort.These C-17s are known for hauling vehicles, right? So is that plane the one that just dropped off these diplomatic cars for whoever’s about to show up?

A source familiar with the situation said the US informed Ukraine ahead of Ratcliffe's trip that a senior delegation was heading to Moscow and asked it to pause strikes until the delegation leaves.

The reason for the visit is unclear but the CIA has mediated in recent US-Russia detainee exchanges and was involved in the 2024 prisoner exchange that secured the release of the Wall Street Journal reporter Evan Gershkovich and the marine veteran Paul Whelan.

Some speculation has focused on the war in Iran, which remains a bone of contention between Moscow and Washington. On Monday the US treasury secretary, Scott Bessent, announced a new economic sanctions strategy designed to isolate Iran.

Not sure how much faith to put in this because I doubt faytuks would get this information before the mainstream media, but sounds like it may have been a push to encourage Russia to not escalate against Ukraine in response to its warehouse strikes, and to stop the drone incursions into NATO. Not sure why he had to fly to Moscow to tell them that though.
 
Yeah I wanted to say, I don't think that Ratcliffe is going back to Moscow again tomorrow (talking about the 3 days window given).
Regarding the fact that Peskov and the Russians didn't know about a govt. flight from the US landing on a military base in Moscow...well of course that's 100% impossible.

The shortness of the visit leads me to think about a discussion to test the waters about Russian intentions in Iran, and more residually about the hybrid warfare that Russia is conducting in Europe (aka drones in Germany) and Ukraine.

I strongly doubt that FakeTuks has access to this kind of high level sources (within CIA/US govt).
Seems more like a smart guess of them that they're trying to sell as something sourced.

Should be regarding Iran, even because it would make no sense to cancel the visit with Witkoff and then send the CIA director.
 
All the usual US Air Force and base markings removed - leaving just the US flag.

CIA directors and other senior intel officials routinely travel in ways designed to stay off the radar. Using a USAF aircraft with reduced or sanitized markings for a sensitive trip is pretty standard operational security — especially post-2023, when Air Mobility Command started deliberately stripping tail numbers and unit markings.
