So why the hell we can't storm their consulates and embassies.

If we are afraid they will do the same to us in China then let's get our woman and men outta that hell hole and begin the pruge.

The same agreement also says,

" Article 22
1.The premises of the mission shall be inviolable. The agents of the receiving State may not enter them, except with the consent of the head of the mission.
2.The receiving State is under a special duty to take all appropriate steps to protect the premises of the mission against any intrusion or damage and to prevent any disturbance of the peace of the mission or impairment of its dignity.
3.The premises of the mission, their furnishings and other property thereon and the means of transport of the mission shall be immune from search, requisition, attachment or execution."

Of course this has been (famously) ignored and violated several times over the years but honestly, why would we do this kind of thing? Branding ourselves a rogue nation along the way. I just can't see enough benefit in the cost to benefit ratio.

At this point imo there is no benefit from having Chinese officials here in the home country.

Maybe purging their buildings here is a bit far, but assume there is very helpful information we could obtain by surprise search and seizure.

At very least give them all 24 hours to vacate, pack up, and go home. Close em all up. We should do the same in China, pack up and end any/all diplomatic "missions" there and bring our woman and men home.

After that of course send out urgent warning to US citizens to not travel to China and any there to come home.

IF China wants to take steps to be a normal law abiding country again they can speak to us at the U.N.

(Talking about government Chinese officials, NOT Chinese citizens or Chinese Americans.)

It’s a very big step to do this.
It elevates all the stakes and advances all the timelines to a confrontation.
Is that in our best interest, is that in anyone’s best interest. Think about it right now the CCP is waiting out the election. If trump loses things will go back to business as usual, Democrats or Republican that won’t matter.

Methodically and aggressively investigating and when appropriate expelling or arresting spy’s across the spectrum has lots of benefits diplomaticly across the globe. ( look at what china’s been doing to us, what have they been doing in your countries?). There has been huge gains against China’s 5g system. But that fight continues.
We also have an opportunity to learn about their networks and how far flung and deeply embedded they are in American business, universities and even governmental agencies.
( don’t forget Sen Feinstein’s chuffers/aid of 20yr.)
With espionage often times what we don’t see is more consequential than what we do see.

I get what you were saying from my understanding you will agree to a point.

What is really to gain from letting Chinese officials be in embassies and consulates in America to operate.

Again maybe purging is a little rough. But expelling any Chinese officials in America is likly needed.

Until China wants to be a law-abiding international law body of government in this world they can just speak to us through the U.N.

I’m quite alright with the end result of expelling a bunch of Chinese nationals and closing any number of consulates in the end.
Just finish the investigations and sweep up all the dirty players “especially” the sm cap americans who have willfully helped and benefited from the Chinese.

Personally I’m all for the reinstitution of the death penalty for citizens at the federal level for treasonous activity. Including spying, sedition, and aiding or joining foreign forces in conflict with me American troops.
It is a capital offense that can or will result in the death or imprisionment of Americans.
A betrayal of your fellow citizens to a hostile foreign power.
Short of betraying family or your God there is nothing worse. But that notion of loyalty and dedication to your country is out of fashion today.
Today we celebrate individuals who do things like that.

They arrested the Chinese National that was hold up in the consulate in San Fran also didn’t they. No word on where or how they took her into custody last I heard.
