New details on drone sightings
According to security sources, multiple "military-grade reconnaissance drones" were used over Munich Airport and the surrounding areas. A police helicopter failed to locate their operators.
On early Friday, a drone was also spotted 700 meters from Frankfurt Airport by stationary drone detection systems - police was able to locate the 41-year old Croatian operator. Motive unknown. Could just be a guy trying to make cool videos.
In Lower-Saxony during the afternoon, police reported an overflight by a small plane over an ammunition depot - until now, investigators do not know any details. Maybe coincidence
On 2nd Oct., three drones were spotted flying in formation over Gifhorn, the location of a police helicopter unit. Drones were flying at 100m height with speeds of up to 100km/h.

After drone reports in the last two consecutive nights, Bavaria has officially requested assistance from the Bundeswehr. A spokesperson has confirmed the presence of Bundeswehr units at the airport, specialising in drone detection. No word yet on C-UAS capabilities deployed.
