Former Syrian Assad Government & Military Have Collapsed

Hope that Syria falls. That regime only stands on the shoulders of Russia and Iran. It must fall to be rebuilt. Unless Sharia law is implemented. You never know. Often the replacements are worse than the regime that fell.

I agree that the biggest question is Syria's near future is whether a new government will embrace diversity. I do think that people in rebel held areas were so oppressed and mistreated by Al-Nusra that they will not be willing to return to that. That gives me optimism.

Russia can't seem to find a good leader, Iraq and Afghanistan can't seem to keep themselves together. Among many others which repeatedly installed evil regimes.

Many African countries cannot keep warlords out of power. People can learn, they can see the signs, and they can choose to do nothing for a variety of reasons.

It's just a matter of who grabs the torch first. Hopefully the good guy. Not sure how much the rebels fit that description, tho.

Only time will tell I guess. Will they choose the path of the future or stay stuck in last millennia. I'd love to see a middle eastern country have a truly free government.
 
Looked into these "rebels" (one man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter). I'm guessing they'd be just as bad as Assad. "Ex" terrorists looking to install fundamental islamic rule. I think Assad is better 🤦‍♂️ except hey Russia gets screwed so I guess that's good.

You need a programme to tell the different groups apart.

No matter who is in control, I doubt much will be different.

This part. Russia losing a grip in the M.E is big imo and worth whatever comes next. US & Israel can drone any attempts of ISIS trying to regain territory as the new Syrian government sets itself up WITHOUT Russia or Iran, you know the most important part.

This surprised me. So many affiliations to figure out. I even wondered about the post about ISIS uniforms found in a Russian base if they were disguising as ISIS to get to the Iraq border. Anyway, can anyone help me understand Iraq returned Syrian soldiers?

Iraq has essentially fallen into the arms of Iran. Heck US is even pulling out of Iraq. So they are likely being told by Iran to send Syrian troops from Iraq who retreated to be airlifted to Damascus for the final showdown.
