Argentina said Meitner Energy will invest $1.2 billion to build a 300 MW modular nuclear reactor at the Atucha site. Casa Rosada described it as Argentina’s first 100% privately financed nuclear reactor project and said it could fall under the proposed Súper RIGI incentive regime if approved by Congress.

The UK government says Sizewell B will continue operating until 2055 under agreed terms with EDF for a 20 year lifetime extension. DESNZ says the plant currently provides about 3% of UK electricity, powers roughly 2.5 million homes, and supports about 900 skilled nuclear jobs.

Australia & India finalized administrative arrangements enabling Australian uranium exports to India exclusively for peaceful purposes and under IAEA safeguards. The joint statement says the arrangement enables long term Australian uranium exports to India under the 2015 Australia & India Nuclear Cooperation Agreement.

Poland’s Sejm adopted legal changes to streamline preparation and delivery of nuclear energy investments. The government says the changes could shorten nuclear plant construction timelines by up to two years, allow more staged project delivery, and create a special early works permit category.
