Hurricane Milton CAT 4 Heading For Tampa Bay/Sarasota --(CLOSED)

NHC has increased the chances of tropical development to 90% with the depression in the western Gulf. Too early to put a track to it, but generally eastward.

Current prediction is a Category 2 hurricane impacting Gulf Coast of Florida. My big concern is it will cross Florida and enter the Atlantic as a Category 1, then reintensify and circle back to somewhere along the east coast.
Early models show Tropical Storm Milton potentially making landfall in the Tampa area, with forecasts predicting it could strengthen into a Category 2 hurricane or stronger.

If it were me, I'd be getting gas, groceries, and water today if I lived within 150 miles of the current track.
#Milton could find itself in an extremely favorable window for rapid intensification Monday night into Tuesday. Minimal to no wind shear, very hot ocean Gulf water, and proximity to a jet streak at 30,000 feet over Georgia.
A jet streak is a very fast pocket of winds within the jet stream. Think like a swirl of water flowing down a river within the flow. That hurricane being in the "entrance region" could help ventilate it and really aid in a ton of intensification given how small it is.
It's Wednesday that some shear and dry air may weaken the satellite/radar presence at landfall but the pressure may not rise much given interaction with the jet. So the net effect of wind impact at landfall may not drop that quickly while the satellite does for being a major hurricane.

Everyone is saying the jet stream is going to be set up perfectly, the trajectory won't change much because of it. Expect landfall at or around the Tampa Bay area at a category 4. Ratcheting up in intensification within the next 2 days.

Absurdity or absolute chaos in Tampa Bay Area. Lines at every gas station. Some already out of gas. Run on food and water. Every store jammed I pass by. Roads are congested as fuck.
I'm debating on weather leaving the state or not. We could be without power for quite some time.
There has not been a major hurricane to make landfall on the bay area in over 100 years.
Therefore a lot of big old trees in this area that have not seen 100 mph winds ever. It's going to be a doozy and I can almost promise it's going to be awhile for majority of people before the lights turn back on after this hurricane everywhere in the Bay Area.

Even inland may not be safe as it is expected to steamroll right through the entire State and pop out on the other side of the Atlantic.

Latest models showing it staying a hurricane as it plows all the way through Florida into the Atlantic. Milton will be a Hurricane entering the Atlantic!
Not even inland or west coast Florida will be safe guys. If you can you should leave the state
