Kazakhstan

It seems that you are wrong, you don't know internal circumstances and relations, and what is going on in these people's heads. This is rapid development of a higher priority, it is already a major concern and Putin seems to be gathering forces. It is a legitimate threat for Russian people at a higher degree than Ukraine.
I've been wrong before. We'll definitely be keeping an eye on it to see how it plays out, because I do agree with the Director that this situation raises complications and uncertainty with the Ukraine situation.

So, i've been sleeping for several hours and i thought it could get worse at certain degree when i wake up next morning, but NOT THAT WORSE - and i don't even finished sleeping! There's really too much for me to cover after i've read the quick list of news my people provided.

Kazakhstan terroristic cells are currently fighting against army units near Almaty, Kazakhstan president has called for CSTO's help. Rebels now are vely well armed and seems to be organising for future - we spotted a video of looting weapon storages and identified that now they have access RPG-7 rounds among them. Social networks are full of messages of threats for Russian people, saying that

Russian Foreign Affairs ministry just now issued a statement for all Russian citizens in Kazakhstan to stock up provisions and find shelter ASAP.

I am getting more and more messages about possible readying deployments from Russian airborne forces and airforce.

Also, UVB-76 (buzzer radio) has changed a marker and is confirmed to be operationg at a different regime. Never saw that one too.

Brewing way stronger tea and continuing monitoring...

What is the real use for that dam buzzer? It’s went quite for years and some think it’s a numbers station while others say it controls nuclear forces. I would think a numbers station but dam.

I’m still waiting for some kind of source that it is some seeded plot from the outside.
I see the claims but I see no proof.
Maybe they are just sick of their corrupt local gov.
Or maybe They should look towards Islamic agitation, it’s 70% Sunni.

For those who don't monitor this - a quick reference of what's going on in Almaty - this is the footage from the night, even before activisation of the military.

Right now we are getting more reports:
❗️Intense firefight between military and armed people began on the square in front of the city hall in Almaty

Troops arrived at the square and began an operation to "clean up" the territory from the instigators of the riots.

By western standards that sounds well beyond localized riots.

But I’ll stand by my previous post nothing thus far points to external agitation.

I AM NOT saying there isn’t outside intervention and it is perfectly acceptable for a gov to try and suppress a revolt.
I just have not seen evidence of anything else but local insurrection.

And in keeping with my personal views of a right to gov and right to remove a corrupt gov. An armed insurrection isn’t necessarily a negative event if it is in fact from the local population and the existing gov refuses to correct injustices.

Maybe this wouldn't be happening if Kazakhstan's president didn't make the boneheaded decision to double the prices of energy. What made him think this wouldn't happen when he did? What was his motive for doing this? What did he think he was gonna gain, honestly? I don't wanna be that guy but, you reap what you sow.

That was probably because of the overall crisis - but he's immediately started working with protesters and offering them solutions. The current president is a repsected person and a professional diplomat - he was a representative of a country in the United Nations.

That just gives the people more reason not to trust him. The UN hardly makes anyone better. People are sick of career crooks I mean Politicians 😆.

Well that's good at least. At least diplomacy is not COMPLETELY off the table. It's still something.

If War is just a continuation of diplomacy via kinetic means.
Then Diplomacy can just as easily be the precursor to war via non kinetic means.

The operative issue with both is the intentions the players have.

War is just what happens when one side or both realize the other is a lying sack of shit and getting ready to slit your throat.

We’ve been at defacto war with Iran since 1979. They’ve just been smart enough to lie believably and never provoke a full blown war.

He’s of the same ruling party that’s been in place since the 90’s and been president for close to three years. How is the responsive government?

Might have been a dead-man's switch for delayed retaliatory strikes by missile boats. If they surfaced a week after a nuclear exchange and the buzzer was gone, they would launch at their targets, knowing that their own country was most likely destroyed.

Just a theory.

The hotspots across the country went quiet, except Almaty, that has been secured by local military and CSTO peacekeeping forces very tight, they won't allow situation to spread, Putin has sent best men Russian Army can offer - everyone is, from officers to soldiers, all together with activation of all CSTO countries. It seems to be over.
Still no idea what was this all about. Rioters were indeed driven by some foreign force. But they went out of control quick, as everything continues, the picture is becoming more clear. A new theory, is that this was Tokaev's doing with the cooperation with Putin. They provoked a coup attempt. Protester elements has took the bait and somehow convinced their curators that this is a good time to strike. By using momentum, Tokaev took out Nazarbayev's family from power and is probably has no choice but get support from Putin and become another ally state for Russia just like the Belarus. By doing so, Putin managed to secure Kazakhstan at a vital timing - at least for a decade ahead, it will pose no threat to him.
All the coup potential that U.S. has been accumulating for decades is gone now. They are either shot or in prison, and the shift in power of Kazakhstan will ensure that this won't happen again in a long time - at least until thirties. Just enough for the world to settle down with it's major claims and set up a new world order, and Putin made sure that in these dangerous times, Kazakhstan will not become a weapon against the Russian Federation.
Tokaev is not Nazarbayev - he can't keep balancing above everyone else's interests regarding Kazakhstan - be it Russians, Americans,Chinese or Turkish - he must make a solid choice which side he will take, and it seems he did.

You could be right or they could be regrouping now that they have their weapons and waiting to see who comes to fight and where. That’s what I would do. There is no sense in having your force spread out all over the place running around like a bunch of monkeys terrorizing the locals.

It’s time for their own little Red Dawn situation. Let them the outsiders in and blow them up little by little till till the troops hate it and cry for home.

Or it was a move by Putin but I highly doubt it. Putin wouldn’t do it while his forces were building up opposite Ukraine. Pulling his best forces from Moscow was a foolish thing to do if a lot of NATO troops wanted to blitz to Moscow from the Baltics!!

Putin couldn’t get reinforcements to the Moscow area for months on his little train. Especially if we blew it sky high.

Their organisation has fallen, if it ever existed. I'm checking every encounter - just a random shoot out. Almaty is a huge >2 mil city, but it will be done eventually.

Stop with this "NATO goes to war" thing, it's not even funny anymore.
And he WILL do it - Kazakhstan is the key to Russia's death. It's the key for Russian influence over China due to the insanely profitable transport routes. It's the way to stop Turkey's Great Turan project. Should i mention that Kazakhstan is the top #1 source of Uranium that produces x10 times more of it than Russia? In the wake of nuclear energy and weaponry needs? Way bigger priority target than that "country 404" no one cares about in a bigger way than just the launch pad for weapons and aircraft. There are still a lot of reasons why Kazakhstan worth fighting for, but i'll get way too tired to count all of them.
And yes - he has forces for both. These countries require different kinds of specialists to deal with.
At least do your research before posting, if you like it so much.

This only works in movies. This is real life. Enough of fiction and "thinking-in-frames-of-fiction" things.
Rebels have only a handful of weapons on their hands from gunstores or a few police stations. They have no supply - they have to provide themselves with food from somewhere. They have to keep themselves warm somehow - it's winter. And it's cold out there. CSTO peacekeeping forces has taken most of the key spots under their defence, so Kazakhstani local forces can free themselves of this exhausting guarding work, gather their forces and start clearing.

Security forces now will turn upside down every place, every rock in the country. For example, it is reported that military has lost track of it's 6 "Igla" launchers. Everyone is working in search for them.

Kazakhstan is a very complicated place, so i don't judge anyone for being ignorant, short-sighted or not knowledgeable - nobody is. It is a web full of different circles going on - be it ethnical, social, economical, foreign corporational ones, every single one. No one can say things for sure in this country. The only one man who could get a hang of it and balance on top of all that - was Nazarbayev. But he's probably dead by now.

I always felt when it comes to Kazakhstan, ignorance is justified considering most people only know it exists because of fucking Borat…

Still, major news companies are hardly covering this. I’ve seen it in passing on BBC this morning but that’s it.
