I'm all for the tribes getting our land back.
At this point. I think America should just give up and give the land back to the natives. Who knows, maybe they'll have a better run at it than we did. Cause we have certainly screwed things up with it.
When I lived in Wisconsin, I always said the city of Milwaukee so bad that the city government should just give up/disband and give the land back to the natives cause they clearly failed. Said that years ago. That or it should just slide/sink into Lake Michigan...

The tribal governments actually care about their citizens, so that alone would be a good reason to give them all of their land back. Have a government actually focused on expanding healthcare for all and spending resources on helping americans instead of bombing other countries.At this point. poisoned bone or stone daggers.
The Americans and Canadians will have no chance of survival.
The Russians will help them because their ancestors came from Siberia (Russia).

Idk about the US but here the tribes are extremely corrupt and res live is hell and only gets worse no matter how much federal funding is thrown at them
No clean water etc, chiefs get lambos, yk the deal
There is an imagined version of first Nations that is honestly quite racist in nature where they're these sacred selfless protectors of nature when not forced down by the man.
But remember the history of NA before the colonizers was still that of endless wars between smaller nations like it is between nations today on a global scale.
We are all unfortunately human. It might get better it might get worse but let's not get ahead of ourselves on the idea that the tribes as they exist today at least care significantly more about the well-being of their people

My experience as a tribal citizen has been much better and substantial than the federal and state services that are essential to everyday life. The rez statement does hold true though and is a contentious issue within most tribes, but varies between each. I will say though in a tongue in cheek statement, that at least none of the tribal leaders were in the epstein files so far

Which tribes get which land back. Does the Souix get the middle and northern planes back or the Comanche. The Kickapoo started in Illinois moved to Kansas then Texas, then north western Mexico.
What do they get back northern Illinois, north western Kansas. Central Texas. Or NW Mexico.
Do the Comanche get all of Comancheria back from south central Texas and northern Mexico all the way into the Dakotas. Comancheria was larger than any European nation at the time.
Or will the Souix and Comanche have to fight for it all over again. With the Pawnee thrown in there for seasoning

Again which tribes get what back? Yoh bet there were terrible things that happened. But the native Americans were not living some non-violent Edenlike existence in North America. They had wars, they took slaves, some participated in symbolic human sacrifice and cannibalism.
My point is native Americans came out on the short end of the stick, sure. Who today is going to arbitrate a rightful compensation for them and how are the different tribes going to then fight over who gets what slice of the pie.
And more importantly who’s going to have to sacrifice meet this expectation.
They lost that war,
