The concern (I assume) has less to do with where the missile impacted, and more to do with the fact the missile flew roughly over the Japanese territory creating a risk if the missile suffered a failure.
I also note the time: It was launched at 7:22 and landed just 22 minutes later over a thousand miles east of an Japanese island.
So if Japan was ever targeted by that missile, I would assume the Japanese would have less than 22 minutes before impact.
Edit to add: This was the first time in five years the North Koreans launched a missile *over* Japanese territory (per NYT article). I

Yes. It's good to collect a lot of reputable sources. Helps confirm the situation and all have different details even if they are slight.
Thank you for explaining that to me. Now I understand how important it is to have as many sources as possible, especially for important news like this.

OK, I didn't want to make a new thread, but I'll ask the question. Have any of you guys caught any info about what was supposed to be a base in S. Korea having an explosion. The timing of the event was somewhere in the basic time frame of the second launch from rocket man. From what I can gather, that second one was supposed to be heading for Hawaii, but didn't get that close, but the explosion was somewhere in the basic same time frame. Also during that time frame, I caught the most strange signals from 8992. I've listened off and on for several years, and I've never heard that one before, and yes, it was in that same time frame.
