Damage will already be done once everyone reads the news or just the title even. What really happen won't really matter to most.
Another example of bad journalism coupled with stupid readers.

A recent Musk comment seems to indicate these suspensions were no error, but were caused by the account linking to doxx'ing. "Seven day suspension" Musk said.

Before the political partisan wars over the POTUS Trump years, there was bipartisan support for USA - Anti-Doxxing Legislation. U.S. Congress - This last included H.R.3067 - Online Safety Modernization Act of 2017

Now that doxxing is a popular sport among political partisans and malicious abuse of the Internet, such history is forgotten.

As described in Congress by this Democrat-sponsored bill:
"This bill amends the federal criminal code to establish new crimes for using the mail or another facility of interstate or foreign commerce to knowingly engage in the following conduct:
  • "publication of personally identifiable information of another person to threaten, intimidate, harass, or cause other harm."
  • Among other acts
It also called for:
"Additionally, the bill directs the Department of Justice (DOJ) to:"
  • "develop a national strategy to reduce, investigate, and prosecute cybercrimes against individuals;
  • publish statistics on cybercrimes against individuals;
  • add operational agents, designate federal prosecutors, and implement training to improve the investigation and prosecution of cybercrimes against individuals;
  • make state and local grants to prevent, enforce, and prosecute cybercrimes against individuals; and
  • make a grant to establish and maintain the National Resource Center on Cybercrimes Against Individuals."
"The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) must create a category, in the Uniform Crime Reports, for an offense that constitutes a cybercrime against individuals. Finally, the bill authorizes additional funding for the FBI and DOJ to hire and train law enforcement officers to investigate and assist in the prosecution of cybercrimes against individuals"

Love that title. Going to sweep across everyone's news feed. Yet another humiliation going to hit the value of Twitter.
Notably the most immediate impact that would have would be to undermine those advocating for the military defense of Ukraine, which has the most media and reporting thanks to Twitter.
