Poor Development & Managment Of Resources

Im not to worried. We have the technology right now to fix these issues. Desalination powered by free renewable energy making the cost greatly cheaper or asteroid mining which we have the technology to do already. These two simple things are so within our reality & power to do.

Where just going to have to wait to do these things until it becomes pressing enough. I'd say we are just around the corner for propping up green powered desalination plants & asteroid mining.
 
Source for what? That sentence was a giant metaphor. Lot of things I was trying to say there could need sources. Do you mean nature naturally culling off oversized populations? Thats pretty general, although I can try by using my example of pathogens.
This is a source that shows the relation between population density and the spread of covid 19. The lower the population density, the lower the rate of infection. Lower the rate of infection, less likely to become a pandemic. That is one way populations are naturally culled when they start to become to dense.

This is, in the context of humans, one of the only ways this happens right now. However, with other creatures, they may end up using up their resources, or the predator population will increase as it has more food. The viruses are like our predator, more people, more food, quicker spread

I know some people here dont believe humans cause climate change, but it wouldnt be the first time a life form changed the atmosphere and killed itself off. I doubt that we will kill ourselves off, but the point is - its natural and "nature" that "punishes" us. If we push our ecosystem out of balance, "mother nature" will "cull" us because the damaged environment makes it harder to live.

To explain the last part of the metaphor, it takes quite a few more words than "mother natures will get us good when she gets us":

Our issue is, all we do is keep putting a band aid on issues. What happens when it stops working? Think superbugs. We tried to fight off deadly infections, now those deadly infections are coming back full force, but we have less immunity because we raised our hygiene standards to prevent even mild infections of these bacterium in the first place. We get people to live to 100, they sometimes get dementia. We try to fight forest fires, and we make forests more flammable and forest fires more common. Fighting nature more means we have to fight nature even more, even if we can handle it for a while we may not get so lucky one day.

Not according to mother nature. Sure, for people, we are underpopulated. To nature, tens of millions of people in tightly packed cities is overpopulation. Because nature doesn't actually care what we think, nature naturally culls the population keeping it in check and we have largely fought it off, and that is the only reason we aren't very clearly overpopulated. When mother nature finally gets us, she'll get us.
 
By then we will have likly left the planet to mine other planets or found a way to extra resources from asteroids.
It is much cheaper to learn (finally!) how to recycle technical scraps. The efficiency of recycling could be increased many times over. But no one wants to do it now, because it is cheaper to produce new ones. A crisis is needed to break the system.

This is a common misconception that making things more efficient will lead to lower CO2 or resource consumption. But that is false. The last parts of the world who are undeveloped are now developing which no matter how efficent we are resource consumption and pollution is going to rise.

Now this doesn't mean we should not be more efficient, absolutely not. We need to be more efficient of course with the things we use. But that will not solve the problem.

There won't be one solution it will be many solutions. I.E green powered desalination, asteroid mining, making things more efficient, making renewables even more cheaper ESPECIALLY for developing nations, vertical farming, expanding nuclear energy, and more.
 
If everyone built more desalination plants than that will also combat rising sea levels from ice melt. 🤔🤫🤭👍🤞🙄
I wouldn't think so because it eventually would get drain right back out to the ocean or evaporate and Rain back down out into the ocean. Most of the water cities use is recycled or returns to a body of water.

For example Las Vegas recycles almost 80% of the water it uses and returns it back to the Colorado River. The other 20% is evaporated which eventually rains back down near the ocean.

(TIP: Las Vegas is the #1 city in the world for water recycling. Almost all the water they use is filtered and returned to the Colorado river.)
