With Trumps statement, 50% Tariffs,
how does this fit with Russia supplying Iran with weapons
to causs harm to US servicemen and woman?

Even in the UK fertiliser prices have increased significantly.

Food prices will go up, yes, but I doubt we'll get shortages in Western countries. It's always the third world that gets hit the worst unfortunately.

I have noticed that here in Australia prices have gone up dramatically and things are missing from supermarket shelves. Looks like the cost of diesel and delivery delays may be having an effect. Looks like some staples are disappearing in regional locations. Just as well I have already done some preparation and my home garden and chooks are going well.

Not really anything specifc as it seems to be relatively random things, but then they may be things people buy but I don't. Pre packaged food, canned and packed goods. Some fruit and vegetable lines that need significant transport from source site.

I haven't been outside of the city to see what's going on with agriculture but so far supermarkets here in Metro Detroit seem pretty well-stocked. I'm taking advantage of that right now to reasonably stock up on what I can.

I haven't noticed any shortages in NYC but prices for some things, like beef, seem to be even more ridiculously high then usual? Of course high prices here could be due to local issues,.as.well....

no panic buying noted but then I hardly ever buy anything.

Actually under local law animal manures are supposed to be aged for several years especially carnivore (dog, cat) and human. I use very little animal manure but a lot of shredded and hot composted garden waste that breaks down in just a few months to a lovely black copost.

Human compost goes to the field in less than 6 months

For nitrogen one supplier is projecting possibly a 9-14% reduction.


Farmers also have not reduced aceragea planted this year. Marginal shift from corn to soybeans due to reduced nitrogen needs for soybeans.

This might be a difficult year but not a catastrophe
