Another Ukrainian-Turkish-UN convoy of grain ships left Odesa this morning, breaking through Russia’s naval blockade of Ukraine for a second day in a row. Again, the Russian Black Sea Fleet is nowhere to be seen. Erdogan has called Putin’s bluff.

This may not be such a good thing. Russia is going to have to start backing up its threats soon. If not this one, then which one? The nuclear one?

Last choppers out of Saigon. Unlikely to be harassed by Russia. Nothing's sailing in, and the UN has just announced that they are indeed suspending shipments.

Putin won't dare to offend Erdogan directly, he knows Turkey is the only thing stopping an additional 1000km+ front opening up in the event of a conventional conflict occurring with NATO.

Update from the United Nations Secretariat at the Joint Coordination Centre | United Nations
Istanbul, 1 November 2022 – The UN Secretariat at the Joint Coordination Centre reports that the Ukrainian, Turkish and United Nations delegations agreed not to plan any movement of vessels in the Black Sea Grain Initiative for 2 November.
Today, UN and Turkish inspectors concluded 36 inspections on board outbound vessels. The teams boarded another two ships, but the process was suspended due to issues related to fumigated cargo. All inspection reports will be shared with the Russian and Ukrainian delegations.
The UN Secretariat reiterates that movements and inspections carried out after the Russian Federation suspended its participation in implementation activities at the Joint Coordination Centre is a temporary and extraordinary measure.
The UN Coordinator for the Black Sea Grain Initiative, Amir Abdulla, in close cooperation and consultation with the Turkish delegation at the JCC, is exerting all efforts to resume full participation at the JCC.
The JCC can best deliver on its mandate with the full and active participation of all four delegations.

Problem might could be Lloyds. Might take a bit to get that worked out. It probably going to require a sovereign indemnification. Also I imagine that all the ship s owners that are in UA ports want them “out” and the ones that are “out” are not gonna want “in”.

Cargo has been on board to long and they had fumigated for pest it seems.
This could just be a hick up or indicative of a greater problem with the grain quality.

It could or it could just as easily be the straw that breaks the back of Putin’s support.
With the international community so allied against Russias part in this they do not have much leeway in how far they can practically escalate the matter.
Look at the bright side everyone. When this is all over and done and put to bed.
There will be a window of potentially significant nuclear arms negotiations.

Oh you do not mess around with agricultural food inspectors. They will shut you down and make life hell for the shipper for a long while.
They can ruin your day and with the UN there it would likely be by the book I would imagine.
