Noticed this on one of the WebSDR chats - does anyone have a recording of this 3x SKYKING?

On the day of the bombing? When was that do ya remember?
 
I know I must sound crazy but around the time of the bombing I heard some kind of garbled, highly agitated voice in another language on 8992. But it didn't seem much different from any other ATC bleedover traffic so I didn't pay it any mind.

The French Air force uses 8992 for ATC at their Paris Airbase.

I guess they were justifiably a little freaked out? Especially in those first few moments when no one knows what the bing-bong-bang is going on.
 
Hmm, there was quite a bit of French going around then. Loads of static, tried to clean it up a little but apparently I'm terrible at noise reduction ;)

I don't speak French so no idea what the bloke's saying.
 
It's pretty normal for them to be quick, as one of the party is flying a plane. but from what I've heard previously, they guide aircraft to their respective runways and correct their heading, as a lot of the transmissions include numbers. Pretty routine stuff.

this has happened every 30 seconds for about 5-10 mins on 8992. Ignore the faint pacman sounder and listen until the end.
It is a strange burst of 3 signals in a row.

edit:
ive worked out it's only present on 8992 not any of the other USAF channels.
it could be RAF Cyprus beginning an over the horizon radar scan.

I've been wondering about that as well.

Only the utwente SDR is picking it up.

Pretty sure its RAF Cyprus. the signal bar pattern seems to look similar to previous scans.
