The United States is prepared to abandon ally Ukraine if Ukraine does not surrender to Russia.

Dictators can do what they please. Including doubling down on somthing they shouldn't that is costing them and their nation everything. No checks and balances for Putin to stop his reckless personal war of land grabs & cos-playing the Soviet Union, horribly I may add.

Only thing Russia knows is force. Will be the only way to get Putin to the table. Force his hand in Ukraine so he can then go and sell his miserable war he started alone as a win to his people.
you don't know what your talking about.

As per title i never heard or read anything anywhere about the US or TRUMP request for Ukraine as country to surrender to Russia? Ffs Russia doesn't even want Ukraine as Russian territory. Putin simply wants Ukraine to treat Russians in Ukraine territory with respect. And wants Ukraine to remain neutral as in not a nato country - member. Please let us not forget world condemnation of Ukraine activities in 2014. Global news sources all reported on what Ukraine was doing. Ffs even Zelinski at first tried telling the Z forces - nazi’s
to stop killing Russians in East Ukraine. The same areas Russia now has control of to protect said victims. Israel even screamed to the world its concerns of the nazi’s in Ukraine. Zelinski was threatened by this group all on camera. Since then with Western support he has completely changed his efforts, obviously threats and financial support goes along way. Feel free to check 2014 news reports on Ukraine atrocities condemnation globally. American news,European news and Israelis attempt to bring it to light. How quick we forget, bury and or block when desired.

The problem is that "there" will eventually come "here" if the line isn't drawn "there".

What clear line did we draw in Ukraine before the invasion, or when Crimea was seized?

That said there is a pretty clear line drawn with the NATO alliance.
And what does eventually come here mean? NATO? the continental US?

What is the one thing the war in Ukraine war has proven is that Russia has not had for a long time a conventional military capable of standing up against combined NATO forces.

We should have been clearer about UKraine but we weren’t Weapon systems including Javelin missels were severely limited to Ukraine in 2021 and curtailed in the case of Javelins. All in the lead up to the invasion.
I’m not saying Trump was any better at making it clear to Putin not to invade. But he did send weapons all four years of his first term increasing each year.

If we have a real fear of Russian expansion we should be forward deploying significant military forces access the eastern front from Finland to Romania. Air armor and artillery brigades. Make the a bold red line drawn across the map. And negotiate from that position of strength.
But is anyone even doing that, lot of small unit training but where are the NATO armies that guarding against Russia expansion?
Currently there are two armored brigades in Poland.

There are no NATO armored brigades in the Baltics. It is not until 2027 that a German heavy brigade is projected to be deployed there. In the meantime a MEU out of Norway should be deployed to the Baltics now.
Romania has a multinational armored brigade still using the T-85 main battle tank.
It’s doesn’t seem like nato military is particularly concerned Russia will be crossing that red line.

We have failed UKraine, I have no pride left in our actions and refuse to stand in the way of seeking peace if peace can be made.

Yet Italy refuses to send there troops to Ukraine. Fine

According to Bloomberg, the Italian Government has begun to consider a number of alternatives to Elon Musk’s Starlink, who they were expected to close a €1.5B deal with soon for use by the Italian Armed Forces and Government Officials, due to recent pullback by the United States of previous commitments made towards European security, likely to include issues related to Ukraine. Both Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and President Sergio Mattarella have expressed support for searching for an alternative to Starlink, claiming the search to be a result of “changing geopolitics.”.

Not just Italy not sending troops. The rest of Europe are all talk and balk. No eu country or nato will send boots in their own uniform to support Ukraine. Mercenaries is as far as it goes.
Nato-Europe are well aware the risk of immediate escalation should they try it. Help ,support Ukraine with info, cash and weapons is as far as this conflict will ever go. Not even peacekeepers will eventuate without Putins expressed permission. Talk is cheap they say, not sure Ukraine population see it that way. So far yrs of loss with yrs to come if Trump can't fix it. Obviously Europe isn't interested in a deal.

Ambassador to the UK recalled after comparing Trump’s bid to end the war in Ukraine to the appeasement of Nazi Germany.
New Zealand has sacked its ambassador to the United Kingdom after the diplomat publicly questioned United States President Donald Trump’s understanding of the events that precipitated World War II

Speaking at a Chatham House event featuring Finnish Foreign Minister Elina Valtonen on Wednesday, Goff compared Trump’s efforts to end the war in Ukraine with the 1938 Munich Agreement that allowed Nazi Germany to annex parts of Czechoslovakia.

A very accurate analogy or comparison. History really does repeat itself and in odd ways too. Not the same, but definitely with similar flavors of historical hindsight leading to catastrophe.

All because of Trump and Putin’s ability to manipulate Trump with false threats, making Trump do whatever Putin wants. Trump is a weak, spineless traitor.

Thankfully, there are still two GOP-appointed SCOTUS justices with actual duty and democratic morals, who are likely the only two people standing between Trump and his transformation of America into an electoral autocracy, much like Turkey or Hungary.

Unfortunately, while SCOTUS can stop us from becoming an electoral autocracy, it cannot prevent Trump from entirely ruining what made America a true superpower I.E its friends and allies. Now, when we face Russia and China in the future, we will do it alone...

So, we're going with appeasement today. Got it. :ROFLMAO:

Trump’s actions; ostracizing our allies, withdrawing aid, cutting intelligence sharing, and lifting sanctions on Russia aren’t just reckless, they’re a direct betrayal of what made America a true superpower: our friends and allies.

Undermining U.S. foreign policy, overriding acts of Congress by withholding approved aid, and weakening deterrence against authoritarian regimes don’t technically meet the legal definition of treason but danm near it, but they are undeniably un-American and a threat to our national security.

America’s strength has always come from its alliances, and abandoning them only serves the interests of our adversaries.

Great example of so called nuclear threat headlines in herald sun. 🤣😂🤣. Macron reminds people of Frances nuclear weapons available to protect Europe and the media classification is a nuclear threat 🤣😂🤣. Sounds familiar 😉🤭🙄

Didn't things really kick off in 2014?

Do not put too much faith in SCOTUS. They're just nine geezers in weird getups, armed with gavels. They would fare very poorly in a firefight.

I'm half-joking, of course, but IMO things have gone too far for SCOTUS to be able to save your democracy, and it's only a matter of time before the administration begins to openly ignore the courts.

You guys really are new to this whole fascist power grab thing, aren't you... ;)

Was it treasonous when Obama never sent lethal aid approved by congress. Or when Biden suspended the amount of lethal aid to Ukraine in 2021. Both of those were approved by congress?

Did Biden abandon Ukraine or NATO when he said publicly before the invasion “a little incursion might not incur any significant international response”
