Let's see what happens. These questions are key to understanding that.
Though I will also reiterate that it isn't easy for the world's third largest consumer of oil (we in India consume the same amount of oil as ASEAN and a little more than half of the entire European Union) to pivot completely away from Russia within months, when the previous policy was that it's okay. Sourcing such a huge amount of oil from other sources is simply not practical when the rest of the world is also diverting from Russia.

We have most of it covered. It just economic unviable. Insert a war and production (including radioactives) will expand. We produce enough of everything (or have huge stock piles). The problems are with refining. We can do it, it’s just expensive. Japan and Malaysia make more than us and both are likely allies in a war with China.
I wish we had continued production after the Cold War but we literally had tons (many many) of most. It took 30 years and vast increases in demand to put the US were it is now.
It not something I worry about because people are smarter than me and NASA, the DOE and the DOD seemed to feel we have it covered, if we demand it. For example our reserves of radioactives go from 500 tons of uranium to 1200+ tons with a modest price increase.
Other materials, such as lithium have been found in great quantity, and in the Mojave, almost all are available.
We really need to worry about something else like maybe hypersonic missiles. Oh wait, that’s stupid too. I mean, the missiles aren’t stupid, faster always better but it’s not like they’re going relativistic and our defenses are.
I think I’m gonna worry about illegal immigration, and trade-imbalances. One is super important the other is not. Both make headlines. Both will bite us in the ass, but only in one case do I have any realistic possibility of influencing… and I already voted. So I guess I’m not worried about that either.
Damn, Fox News and MSNBC are gonna go broke. Well there is always abortion and gun control. You know, where liberals worry that people might get shot, but gleefully slaughter the unborn whilst conservatives know that some people NEED a good killing and babies never do.
(I’ll bet THAT gets a reactions)
