Sweden announces a major build out of “territorial air defence” (approx. SEK 15bn). Government tasks the Armed Forces to produce, train, and equip multiple units for a future structure intended to protect war units, mobilization capacity, cities, and critical civilian infrastructure.
Sweden orders 20,000 protective masks for the civil defence system. Government tasks the new civil defence agency (Myndigheten för civilt försvar) to ensure baseline mask readiness, including storage planning and training support. The release explicitly frames use cases including biological, chemical, and nuclear warfare conditions, not just smoke or industrial hazards.
Belarus says it is continuing a planned recapitalization of aviation and air defense. Air Force and Air Defense commander Andrei Lukyanovich lists recent receipts, Mi-35M helicopters, another batch of Su-30SM2 fighters, Tor-M2K SAM batteries, S-400 launcher units, and “Rosa” and “Vostok” radars.
U.K intends to develop missiles with a range of more than 500 kilometers for Ukraine. It was also reported that as part of the project, called Nightfall, the British government "has launched a competition for the rapid development of ground based ballistic missiles that can carry a 200 kilogram warhead."
️BBC reports UK ministers believe existing law could authorize the use of military force to stop sanctions busting “shadow fleet” tankers linked to Russia and Iran. This lands days after the UK enabled US seizure of the BELLA 1 (Marinera) and after Defence Secretary John Healey told MPs the UK is “developing further military options” against the shadow fleet. Finland’s Defence Forces launched their second SAR radar satellite. This accelerates Finland’s sovereign, space based ISR. Persistent imaging and monitoring day or night, through cloud cover, plus data sharing potential for other authorities. Finland also explicitly ties this capability to deeper cooperation with allied SAR users, strengthening NATO collective defence and deterrence.
Sweden’s defence minister Pål Jonson says the next battlefield will be shaped by unmanned systems and long-range strike, and announces a (SEK) 4B rapid drone package to equip all services. Includes long range “patrol missiles” for strike, ISR drones, airborne EW, and sea drones for mine clearing and maritime surveillance, with delivery target within 2 years.
He also flags (SEK) 1.3B for Sweden’s space capability, including around 10 military satellites intended to boost effectiveness of unmanned systems and cruise missiles.

US President Donald Trump said Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky ‘has no cards’ and is not very important in peace talks with Russia.Trump launched his latest attack at Zelensky on Friday, three days after US and Russian officials met in Saudi Arabia and did not invite Ukraine’s leader.
‘I’ve been watching for years, and I’ve been watching him negotiate with no cards,’ said Trump of Zelensky on Fox News Radio. ‘He has no cards. And you get sick of it.’
