one of the historic hallmarks of western warfare is maximum effort at the battlefield and at home needs to be concentrated to bring overwhelming force to the enemy and subdue them as violently and quickly as possible. Decisive victory must be the sole aim and purpose of the war effort.
When both sides have a similar perspective wrt war, and both have nuclear weapons in their arsenal, what are the chances they won't be used?

I honestly believe just as good as they would be.
This is obviously dependent on staying out of Russia. Of NATO maintaining a defensive posture. Air cap, air defense, and small specialized nato units to achieve specific goals to defend and or liberate Ukraine.

But this is from if the perspective nato putting boots inside Ukraine. I don’t see this as a given.

Imagine this we are worried about nuclear war because Russia has launched an offensive war. And then when things go against them other neighboring nations decide yeah we’ve been neutral for decades but we don’t like or trust how Russia is behaving.
We changed our mind we want in the alliance.
And somehow we’re debating if this is the correct thing g to do because it might piss Russia off.
Tough shit clad your screwed up.
We’re here now with Ukraine because nato has been weak and indecisive.
And now the debate is should nato return to being indecisive in order to mollify Putin? Or continue to be clear and decisive.
Yes there is unknowns, but their are no unknowns what being indecisive will bring.

I would not trust this source based on information I’m finding about them.
So is the translation wrong?
No sarcasm

it is linked from Julie Davis ( neocon)
To the daily beast.
I would like to know if the captioned translation is correct or not.
If it’s correct it’s very jihadist of them

I just watched the Russian tv commentary.
Has anyone considered all of this talk of WW3 and Armageddon in Russia not about propose policy and imminent world war. Rather it is to couch the special military holiday in Ukraine in a critical and civilization ending struggle for Russia. So as to mobilize the population to the struggle and the dead Russian soldiers.
I almost feel foolish in saying but think of constant rhetoric coming from the DPRK. It’s devoid of reality in an effort mold public opinion at home

Are you saying they know nobody is buying their crap at home so they're trying their hardest to rally up their own people?
I don’t know, if the subtitle translations were accurate.
It was all really over the top.
“Russians will go to heaven, the westerners will just be dead” ?

Apparently it is accurate but the head of RTInternational is probably saying things for viewers and clicks.

This was said by V.Putin many years ago in the context of possible nuclear attack against Russia: "we will go to Heaven like martyrs, the West will just die".

I agreed, I’ve said this before recently.
A lot of the stuff coming from Russian media sounds more like North Korea, over the top.
I’m sure there are times and media from the US appears the same to a non-English speakers. But it is bizarre

It could be. One of my Russian friends tells me the average TV presenter is thought of like some drunk schizo in Russia, but then again he’s young.

There’s been a very big brain drain in Russia though. I’d have thought the majority of Russians were smart enough to look past it. Who knows.

I feel like this rhetoric has gone past the level of the first cold war now, and we have slipped to Cuban Missile Crisis levels. It is very troubling, but there is still time to avoid nuclear weapons used in anger for the first time since WWII, although that is looking increasingly unlikely.

They are now in siege mentality mode.
Some of the stuff they are coming out with (I appreciate there are some translation issues) is beyond ridiculous. It is like something from a comedy sketch.

Is there any video of troops engaging each other in firefights, or helmet cam, cell, city cams footage either?🤔

This is what worries me.
Responding to a similar British statement on Tuesday which said Russian military targets inside Russia were fair game for Ukraine, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova suggested that British logic meant Russia was also theoretically entitled to strike targets in NATO countries like Britain if they were related to arms deliveries for Ukraine.

Jesus they really are prepping the public arent they......
Yeah, it all sounds so scripted. Some of them you can actually see the worry on their face as they hear themselves say these things. Truly frightening propaganda tends to be.

I think they will be limited Ukraine certainly isn’t going to invade.
But it would be impractical to expect or limit Ukraine taking out a Iskander mobile system. Just across the boarder of a airfield just across the boarder.
