Well personally I think Lavrov is just saying that to justify to the Russian people why the special military operation is taking so long, backing up the "we're not fighting Ukraine, we're fighting the combined strength of NATO" rhetoric.

Which is undeniably true. No lies there. The Russian public are aware that obviously without Western interference with support and supplies this would have been over or atleast more favourable by now. Whether they supported it or not.

What would you do better, and what negative consequences would it have?
Most of the leaders of the free world are just trying their best, knowing a lot more than you do, knowing the potential consequences of their actions. Could you do better than a team of advisors?
You do not know most of what goes on behind the scenes and why your leaders make the decisions they do. Chances are, just as many people would hate [any given person outside of politics] as a leader, too.

No. Just RT isn't a reliable source and are operated by Russian government. Any government ran media not just RT is labeled as such like The Global Times here.

It's your prerogative to think however you want about RT. But it won't be acceptable here to "present" as a accurate source or a source to confirm things.

There was a time in USA when out nation did not fear or censor your voices and media - right or wrong - because we believed that a nation that is afraid to let its people judge the truth and falsehood in an open market is a nation that is afraid of its people. The USA was that nation once. And there are STILL - even now in this troubled age - many Americans who still know and believe that. There any many freedom-loving Americans, with free minds, who are not afraid of Russia propaganda organizations. We believe that OUR freedom of expression can communicate the reality and truth. We are not afraid. Not of the Russia state media and not of the USA state media. We believe in freedom of thought and expression.

I write this as one who has personally been targeted by Russia TV (RT) in its support for white supremacist figures in the USA, as it sought to promote division and hatred. But we are still not afraid, and we can communicate with our fellow Americans without the anti-freedom Information Operations that the misguided believe are necessary. Yes, there are the misguided who believe "victory" is behaving like USSR/Russia, but there are also many who know better.

No matter if you are Russian, American, Korean, Chinese etc... In today's world ALL news media is 100% controlled by the government or corporations pushing the narrative. The problem is every news station worldwide wants to be the first to break a news story so they report it without fact-checking or verifying the sources. I would like to see war correspondence on the ground reporting on the UA/RU conflict to get first-hand video. There are a couple of Russians in Belgorod filming and posting the air defense tests to debunk Russia's claims they are being attacked. This site and other OSINT sites are suffering the same feed lag coming from on the ground. I am glad to start seeing helmet cams from both sides circulating the best they can.
