With a kinetic war in Eastern Europe and the Russian strategic forces test tomorrow, I think the US military moving to Round House would be prudent. We're not the ones escalating, and we don't want Russia to be tempted by seeing us with our pants down. Things can move fast.

That would be an unnecessary and dangerous escalation. Again, the best move is to ignore the tests.

I am shocked you didn’t rip him a new one for suggesting we go to a mythical alert status 🤣.

DEFCON must be out to dinner or currently destroying his man cave over it after his video explaining DEFCON alerts in detail. For the 99th time.

I fully agree with Future Finder's assessment of using prudent caution. Granted, because I'm an older person, I fully remember the last time that we got this close. A line by line comparison between then and now really can't be fully made. Like I've said before, for more modern times, these are uncharted waters. Granted, fighting is occurring as I write this. Lives are being lost or either injured, people are scared, evacuations are taking place, there's a run on the ATM's over there, you've had two different explosions that affect critical infrastructure to about 40% of Europe. I'm sure, if nothing else, you'll certainly see fuel prices take a drastic jump after that incident. So yea, this is affecting all of us in one way or another.

Then you see the announcement of some sort of a simulated nuclear test by Russia for tomorrow. DWS is correct in making the suggestion of just showing a yawn by the 3 letter alphabet agencies in the US gov. I just wish I knew a pizza delivery guy that catered to the WH. You might think it's funny, but that delivery guy could tell you a bunch when it comes to an increase of orders IF and I say IF anything is really going on or if they are taking tomorrow seriously.

Here's the real problem. It only takes one mistake and someone doing something stupid on either side of the coin. If stupidity reins, we could easily be reading the next forum in the upper stratosphere. That's quite a sobering thought.

Let's make something clear right here and now. Am I saying that something bad is going to happen??? NO NOT AT ALL. But, am I saying that something COULD happen??? Regretfully, I have to answer that one with a yes. Tensions are very high right now. People are angry, upset apprehensive and maybe scared. That's a normal human reaction--especially when we have no control of anything that could go on.

See, here's the difference in the thinking of the generations. Most of the people in the working years now, have pretty much a dependency upon computers and higher technologies to do their work and go through life. But, the real underlying problem with that is that too many people DEPEND upon those computers and high technologies, INSTEAD of using the products as a tool to be more productive. And, with the youngest ones in the working years don't know any other way to accomplish their tasks without a computer.

It's so sad, and I've seen it on either comments or replies or something being completely put out on the forums that makes me think those folks 'think' of these circumstances as something like a video game or something with a high excitement level. Woe be to those ones that think that way--because they will have a real sudden dose of reality if things go south.

I usually don't make recommendations here, but look up under emergency readiness and look for my post of Final thoughts #7. Folks, these next few days could be really dicey. I did catch one video that showed the statements from Russian television stating and I quote " We are going to war with Ukraine--if NATO gets involved, it's headquarters will be hit". Now folks, if that statement is more than just "hot air", we could seriously be in trouble.

The only thing that I didn't post anywhere in those past series were some possible indications that something might be brewing. Here's what I think you might want to observe and put in the back of your mind for a couple of days. Cyber attacks are going all over the place. It wouldn't be the fault or lack of monitoring by DWS or any of the guys on the board, because if there's a cyber attack, we are suddenly made blind and deaf. If you discover something "funky" with the internet, or GPS, or electrical or infrastructure depending upon communications---that might be the only warning sign that you might get. So keep that in the back of your mind. If you suddenly lose cell service where you know that you usually get a good signal--that might be the only indicator. Years ago, we could reasonably trust good ole AM or FM radio. But a bunch of that stuff now is transmitted up to a satellite and then re-broadcasted. Well, it only takes one satellite killer, or even a stray meteor and that's now down. See?? Technology is nice, but it's also very fragile.

Now, I'm not pushing any faith here or beliefs. Yes, I"m Christian. That's all I"ll say there. But, regardless of your faith or belief, it might be a very prudent time for you to have a good talk with your God and make sure y our life is straight and especially your heart. If you ask him for anything during this potential crisis situation, ask him for a resolve to the situation, ask for protection of yourself and your loved ones, and even more important than that, ask for his guidance and wisdom.

In summary, why did I make such a long post? When I was 18 years old, many many years ago, I swore an oath to protect and serve the community that I was hired to protect. I took that oath seriously then--and even though I have that gold retirement badge a nice plaque, etc., I still take that oath seriously to this very day. That's why. It might be the only way that I can still make a difference.
God bless.

Russian television says shit like this pretty constantly though, it’s meaningless at this point.

It truly doesn't matter that we don't share a religious belief. I have immense respect for the place you're coming from, and the principles you're upholding. It might be some small comfort to consider that a lot of us here are probably just as aware as you of all of these things that can go wrong, even if you don't stress them. I am, for one. Anyone who places all their bets on plans made in times of peace has never truly understood the chaos of war.

By my assessment this is the most dangerous crisis the world has been in since Able Archer, and has potential risks that could be similar. The way that's playing out is in some new ways due to new technology, as you describe. But the dynamics are almost the same. And because on the public side of things there's no way to know whether diplomats and politicians have any sort of understanding with each other behind the scenes or not, the best course is to assume not, and look at this situation as if both the US and Russia are flying blind as to the other's secret intentions, and that they're both trying to navigate a maelstrom of propaganda noise and military fake outs which can turn real by accident even if not intentionally. It's an unstable situation.

My calm isn't complacency. Of that anyone who reads my posts can be assured. Thank you for your contributions.

I hear you. The concept of MAD was supposed to be defensive by nature. I firmly believe that Putin would have no problems launching an offensive strike. The current US leadership wouldn’t even think about it. Just my two cents.
What worries me is who is actually running the white house. When president Biden does a news conference or is shouted questions from the media you'll hear him say , they told me not to say that or I'll get in trouble if I say anything more, things like that. Well, who is they? I know he has advisers but he is the president of the United States for Gods sake!

Maybe because it would expose who their agents are too the russians? or just what they know, or even a bluff to make it seem like they know more than they actually do about the Russians?

Its a strange situation when US predicts invation on specific dates. I think Russia will not invade on dates US predicts, even if they planned to do so. Is it US way to buy time for something we dont see?
Great then the US should predict 30 years ahead to prevent an attack 😅

So far today in Russian telegrams:

- 2 shots reported to reach Russian territory. 1st reported 1km deep with no reported casualties and another one reported also with no casualties.

- Evacuation continues further, lots of videos about it. Reported number of evacuated so far seems to be around 30000. Overall plans are to evacuate 700000.

- OSCE (neutral european observation organization stationed around the frontline) reported multiple artillery shelling yesterday. Here is a map showing where most shells hit.
It appears to mostly be concentrated around the frontline. Explains why we don have many videos of shelling. I was looking for the number of explosions reported but only found the one reported https://t.me/karaulny/356366 by DPR - 200. If we check the map from OSCE, it looks as if LPR is shelled about twice as much and Ukrainian side is shelled about 1/3 from what DPR and LPR. This puts an estimated number of total shells fired at about 900 as of today - extremely intense.

And another one. Some pro-separatist channels started to publish the following map of the possible Ukrainian invasion. I personally do not believe that Ukraine will conduct any assault operations anytime soon, but I am posting this map for 2 reasons:

- to simply show that these channels used the same idea that some British media used and began to share it
- the actual position of combat units for Ukrainian military might be close to truth and might give an overall idea of their positioning. Last estimate had Ukrainian army stationed around DPR/LPR to be at 200.000 units.
